LEGO officially revealed the long-awaited model of the original PlayStation 1 on Thursday , and it seems that the news related to this gaming legend is far from over. The first ever photo of the upcoming LEGO Astro Bot, codenamed 40899, which has been rumored for several weeks, has now been released online. And if the original information is confirmed, it will be a gift with the purchase of the new LEGO PlayStation.

The first photo reportedly appeared in marketing materials related to the newly announced PlayStation 1 set, showing Astro Bot in all his glory. And it seems that this is not a miniature figure, on the contrary, LEGO has apparently chosen a classic buildable figure that fairly faithfully copies the appearance of the game hero. There is a large black face with blue eyes, a white-blue body, a characteristic antenna, and transparent blue elements under the feet representing the jets. The entire figure also stands on a black base with a plate with the inscription Astro Bot, so it looks like a display model.
And the size of the entire kit is perhaps the biggest surprise. If LEGO Astro Bot is really supposed to function as a gift with purchase, it certainly does not seem like one of the classic small bonuses that LEGO throws in with an order from time to time. On the contrary, this set looks like a fairly full-fledged model that I could easily imagine being sold in regular stores. However, it is true that, for example, LEGO has given away gift sets of relatively large dimensions in the past for Harry Potter sets, for example in the form of the Room of Requirement . So history may well repeat itself now.

Free for LEGO PlayStation?
Whether Astro Bot will actually be free has been a hot topic in the LEGO community in recent weeks. The original leaks said that Astro Bot would be given away as a gift with the purchase of a LEGO PlayStation starting October 1st. We could also hear the same information from a number of previous leaks related to the upcoming LEGO PlayStation reveal. However, later conflicting information emerged, according to which LEGO may have changed its plans and Astro Bot might not be available for purchase.onec be offered as a separately sold kit.
However, the newly published photo variaThe gift to buy is quite impressive again. Astro Bot is displayed right next to the LEGO PlayStation, which miniIt's a little bit of a hint that the two sets are closely linked. But it's not 100% confirmed yet, and LEGO doesn't mention any Astro Bot bonus in its official PlayStation press release. official website LEGO also doesn't mention Astro Bot, which isn't surprising considering that the set isn't scheduled to go on sale until October 1st, and especially since it's currently on sale. big Harry Potter event.

Now all that remains is to wait and see if LEGO confirms Astro Bot as a gift with purchase, or if you can buy it yourself.oneWe will have to buy it separately.
