The upcoming LEGO Astro Bot 40899 set has been quite lively in recent weeks. First, its existence was leaked, followed by the first photos, then pictures of the box and theoneconfirmation that it would be a gift with purchase. However, practically the entire time it was assumed that Astro Bot would be an exclusive bonus for customers who purchase a new LEGO PlayStation. However, LEGOonec surprised me and made the conditions much more pleasant, which is absolutely great for me. Honestly, I don't like LEGO PlayStation that much, but I would like to build Astro Bot, so it's great that it's easier to get to.

Starting today, October 1st, you can get LEGO Astro Bot for free with the purchase of practically any LEGO building sets worth at least CZK 3690. Promotion at the Czech LEGO Store valid until October 7th, or while supplies last. In other words, you don't have to buy a LEGO PlayStation or any other specific building kit, but you just need to exceed the required order value.
I dare say that considering how great Astro Bot is and the fact that it is a set with a direct link to PlayStation (albeit PS5 and not the original), I think it is a very pleasant surprise. The set consists of 276 pieces and when assembled measures over 20 centimeters in height, 12 centimeters in width and 7 centimeters in depth. So it is not a classic miniA gift to buy, but a fairly decent display model, which you also get with its own stand.
PlayStation 4oneyou don't need it at all
The model itself has movable arms and a rotating head, so it can be displayed in several different poses. LEGO has also added interchangeable eyes, where the classic round ones can be replaced with crescent ones to change Astro Bot's expression. There is also his signature cape and blue pieces depicting a jet engine.
It is also interesting that LEGO lists the Astro Bot on its Czech website as 469 CZK, which is actually quite a low price compared to older gifts available for purchase. For example, relatively recently, LEGO gave away the Harry Potter Room of Essentials, which, if I remember correctly, was priced at around 700 CZK, even though it was also a free gift. In any case, these are just indicative prices, for which these sets are of course not sold on the secondary market. However, in the case of Astro Bot, I think that thanks to how easy it is to get hold of, its price on the secondary market will not increase significantly.

So if you've been eyeing it but aren't too keen on the new LEGO PlayStation, it's actually the best it could have been. The only problem might be availability. Astro Bot looks really good for a gift to buy, and the sale only lasts a week, so I wouldn't be surprised if stocks run out before October 7th.
