We reported a few months ago that LEGO was planning a grand return to Helm's Deep. At the time, there was relatively little concrete information surrounding the upcoming set, with the main focus being that it would be one of the largest LEGO The Lord of the Rings sets ever. Now, however, another batch of information has emerged that gives us a much clearer idea of when we'll see the new Helm's Deep and, most importantly, how huge it will actually be.

According to current information, oneThe set is called LEGO Icons 11399 The Lord of the Rings: Helm's Deep and is supposed to consist of an incredible 8060 pieces. It is supposed to go on sale on June 1, 2027, or in June of next year. Of course, it will be a set intended for adult builders with the 18+ rating, but LEGO has not officially confirmed its existence yet, so all this information still needs to be taken as information from leaks.
The number of pieces is by far the most interesting part of the new information, in my opinion. Earlier leaks mentioned more than 6000, and later more than 7000 pieces. However, the number has now stabilized at 8060 pieces, which puts the new Helm's Deep into a completely different category. Pro In comparison, the original LEGO 9474 Battle of Helm's Deep from 2012 had only 1368 pieces. The new set would offer almost six times as many.
If the leak is confirmed, the new Helm's Deep will be very close in size to this year's Minas Tirith, which has 8278 pieces, which indicates where LEGO is going with the new set. So it will definitely not be just a more modern version of the original set from 2012, but another giant display model of Middle-earth, which should stand alongside Rivendell, Barad-dûr, and Minas Tirith.
Unfortunately, we don't know yet how the kit itself will be designed. However, with 8060 pieces, LEGO should have enough space not only for the Hornburg fortress itself, but also for its characteristic tower, gate and, above all, the long curved wall, which is one of the most striking elements of Helm's Deep. Will it be a complete miniminiature scale, a combination of classic building techniques with a smaller scale, or something in between, remains a question for now. Personally, however, I would bet more on the latter variantu, because LEGO also took this path with Minas Tirith and I think it worked out quite well.

Likewise, we don't yet know the price or the final lineup. minifigures. Older leaks mentioned an amount of around 550 euros and miniat least eight, later even more than ten minifigures, but new information does not confirm these figures. Therefore, the only thing more certain is the designation 11399, 8060 pieces and the planned release in June 2027. So maybe the set will really be worth it, but given its size, I believe it will be.
