And now it is availableoneAfter much speculation, LEGO Astro Bot 40899 actually exists and will be available for free with the purchase of the LEGO version of the original PlayStation.

Astro Bot itself consists of 276 pieces and measures approximately 20 centimeters in height when assembled. So it is not a miniature figure packaged on the side, but a fairly large display model. LEGO has placed it on a black base with the Astro Bot logo, and its appearance is based on the now iconic blue-and-white robot, which has become one of the most distinctive PlayStation characters in recent years.

LEGO also did a great job with the model. The arms and head are movable, so Astro Bot doesn't have to stay in the same position on the shelf all the time. Even more interesting are the interchangeable eyes. There are various varianty, thanks to which his expression can be changed, which is a really nice detail considering how important the eyes are to Astro Bot's character.
But the most important thing is of course its availability. The new LEGO Astro Bot is confirmed as a promo kit, so the information that appeared in the first leaks has come true. Separate sales are not confirmed at the moment, which is why this relatively small set could become a quite interesting collector's item in time. The entire event is, of course, connected to the LEGO PlayStation, a brick replica of the original Sony console. ProThe event will launch in just a few days, with LEGO Insiders members getting access to PlayStation from October 1st, while it is scheduled to be available for everyone else from October 4th.

And honestly, as a bonus to purchase, Astro Bot is a hit in my opinion. Judging by the leaked photos, it looked significantly better than many of the classic small GWP sets, and the official information only confirms it. 276 pieces, twenty centimeters high, its own stand, positionable parts and interchangeable eyes make it a kit that LEGO could easily sell separately in my opinion. So if you are planning to buy a LEGO PlayStation anyway, the start of the sale will be a little more interesting this time. Traditionally, similar gifts are only available while stocks last – and given the popularity of Astro Bot, I wouldn't be surprised if this bonus disappeared very quickly.
