Apple has been trying to catch up with competitors in the field of artificial intelligence in recent months and seems willing to invest not only in its own development, but also in acquiring talented experts from other companies. It has recently emerged that the Californian giant has concluded an agreement with the startup Huxe, which is backed by former Google developers involved in the popular NotebookLM tool. And although this is not a classic acquisition of the entire company, Apple Thanks to this agreement, it gains the opportunity to employ some of its employees and use the technologies they have developed. This could be quite interesting in the future.

Apple is interested in AI experts audio

Huxe was founded in 2024 by Raiza Martin, Jason Spielman, and Stephen Hughes, who previously worked on Google's NotebookLM project. Their goal was to create an application that would use artificial intelligence to convert various information into audio. For example, users could notchat prepare daily audio overview of emails and calendar events, listenchat automatically generated podcasts on selected topics or follow continuously updated news and sports reports.

Huxe opened to the public in September of last year and managed to raise $4,6 million in investment. However, its operation was short-lived. In May of this year, the developers announced the end of the project, stating that they intended to focus on new opportunities. The service itself subsequently ended on May 28.

However, it has only now been revealed, thanks to a European database related to the Digital Markets Act, that Apple already announced an agreement on June 9 that allows it to offer employment to selected Hux employees and obtain a non-exclusive license to the startup's intellectual property. This does not mean that Apple bought the entire company, and it has not yet been publicly confirmed who will be employed.ancand they actually accepted the offer.

We will see similar features in Siri?

What exactly Apple It is not yet clear what Huxe plans to do with the technologies. However, their possible use within the Apple Intelligence or new generations SiriThe idea that you iPhone for example, during your morning commute, it will automatically prepare an audio summary of important emails, meetings, and the latest news, which certainly doesn't sound bad. Equally interesting could be the connection with AirPods or HomePods.

However, only time will tell whether we will actually see similar features. The only thing that is certain for now is that Apple continues to expand its capabilities in the field of artificial intelligence and acquire technologies and experts who could help it improve its own products. According to 9to5Mac Moreover, this is at least the fourth agreement this year AppAI-related lu.
