Red Bull-sponsored German freestyle motocross rider Luc Ackermann once again proved why he is one of the biggest talents in the FMX scene. He jumped from a moving truck onto another on a highway in his homeland and managed a backflip while flying.flipAnd it was no ordinary trick – Ackermann flew over a nine-meter highway barrier and had only half a second to land.

"If I hadn't taken the speed and rebound at exactly the right moment, I would have either hit the mark or missed the impact," said the 27-year-old rider, who previously made history as the youngest person to land backwards on a motorcycle.flip.

The jump itself was a perfect combination of courage, physics and precise calculations. Ackermann launched himself from the back of a truck travelling at 20 km/h, accelerated to 54 km/h and, combined with the speed of the vehicle, took off at a total speed of 74 km/h. In the air, he added a Tsunami Back trickflip, flew over a 9-meter-high barrier and jumped onto a second truck 23 meters away, a total jump of 40 meters. And all this without any problems.hometru – the decisive signal was given to him by his brother and fellow rider Hannes Ackermann, who was right on the rebound truck.

The entire project was prepared with maxwith utmost care. Thomas Stöggl, Head of Global Performance Innovation in Athlete Performance Center in Thalgau, Austria, analyzed all the parameters – from the motorcycle's acceleration and the truck's speed to the angle of impact and weather conditions. At first glance, the crazy stunt was actually a meticulously calculated physics experiment. But after landing, emotions took over. "The feeling after the jump was incredible, because I knew it only came out so-so," Ackermann described. "The preparations took several days, the tension was enormous, and when it fell off me, it was an incredible relief. I celebrated, I almost went crazy."

Luc Ackermann herebyonem proved once again that freestyle motocross is not just about crazy courage, but also about scientific precision. In a single second, speed, trajectory and aerodynamics had to be perfectly aligned – and it was this mix that made his backflipbetween two moving trucks, a piece that will not be easily forgotten.
