Fans of the 20s have reason to rejoice. At the turn of the year, LEGO Ideas launched two challenges aimed at recalling iconic cultural moments from the last decade of the XNUMXth century. Whether it was movies, TV shows, music or board games, contestants had the opportunity to transform their nostalgia into real-life LEGO models – and the best ones even got the honor of becoming an official LEGO Ideas set.
The main challenge, called Build Your Nostalgia – 90s Throwback!, offered creators the opportunity to build models ranging from 1,000 to 5,000 bricks. This resulted in a range of spectacular designs – from replicas of famous movie scenes to giant 90s characters to themed bookends. In total, 192 competition entries were received in this category , which is a really good number for a community challenge.
You can see the design in the gallery below. However, we must point out that this is only a fan-made version, not the final product that LEGO will release for sale. However, it should be heavily inspired by the fan-designed version, as LEGO will only change what it cannot do well.

The LEGO X-Files is coming!
Both competitions produced five final models, the winners of which were decided by a public vote of the LEGO Ideas community. And the winner of the first and main challenge was a model that will delight every fan of mystery series: The X-Files: The Truth Is Out There by the creator who goes by the nickname WetWired.
His winning model builds on the legendary series The X-Files, which first appeared on television screens in 1993 and became a cult during its 11 seasons. The model combines forest scene with a landing UFO a kancFox Mulder's cell in the FBI basement, which also includes the famous poster "I Want To Believe".
The building has approximately 2 cubes and in addition to the detailed processing of the environment, it also impresses with its selection minifigurines. There is no shortage Fox Mulder, Dana Scully, classic "gray" alien, Jersey Devil, Walter Skinner, Syndicate leader or for example Eugene Tooms – a character that is certainly remembered especially by die-hard fans of the series. The author of the WetWired model himself claims that he managed to incorporate a number of details and references into the construction that will allow "to put together a global conspiracy piece by piece."
The entire project is not only a technically successful construction, but above all a tribute to one of the most striking series phenomena of the nineties . And what's the best? The model will now become a real LEGO Ideas set, so we can build it at home. If you are a fan of The X-Files, you definitely have something to look forward to.
