The Czech internet number one company Seznam.cz, now offers its users the option of verifying their Account List using their bank identity. Pro everyone who uses it will be labeled as a "verified user." This will not only bring benefits to individual services, but also a new way to potentially restore access to your account if you accidentally lose or forget your password.
"Authentication using BankID is now our most reliable way to restore access to the Account List when you forget your password or your email is stolen. The purpose of using a bank identity for account verification is to ensure transparency and higher security of user data within our digital ecosystem." says David Finger, director of the company's Email.cz and Mapy.cz division Seznam.cz.
It is working on the possibility of verifying your account via bank identity Seznam.cz with the BankID service provider, Bankovní identita, as, and the user's login details for all banks connected to BankID can be used for verification. "In the verification process, the user reaches the login page of their bank via the BankID interface, where they verify their bank identity. The bank informs them that they are connected to the company Seznam.cz will only share their name and date of birth, and if the user agrees, Seznam will receive confirmation of their identity and mark the account as verified,” describes how Finger authentication works.

Bank identity verification is an effective solution for both of these cases," concludes Finger.
