Although the locator AirWorkshop tag Applu has only been on store shelves since Friday, and has already undergone a number of different analyses and tests. One of the most interesting was taken care of a few hours ago by experts from iFixit, who AirThey compared the Tag with the competing Tile Mate and Samsung Galaxy SmartTag under X-ray. What did this test tell them?
X-rays confirmed that it is de facto AirThe tag is only as big as it needs to be – in other words, you wouldn’t find any “extra” space in it. However, the same cannot be said about the competition in the form of Tile or SmartTag, as the picture clearly shows how much extra space their body unnecessarily contains and by what it actually increases. However, it is clear that a piece of this “extra” space requires a mounting solution in the form of a hole for threading a string or a metal eyelet, which may seem cheap in its own way, but on the other hand saves the owners of the locator money. In the case of AirIf you need to attach the tag to something, you need to buy a relatively expensive accessory.
iFixit further revealed that AirBoth the Tag and SmartTag contain the same 0,66Wh CR2032 batteries, while the Tile Mate has a smaller 0,39Wh CR1632 battery. As for their replacement, in all cases it is the same procedure - that is, removing part of the cover and sliding out the battery. However, while the Tile and Samsung have a groove for nails on the back, which makes it easier to remove it, the AirYou would be hard pressed to find anything similar to the Tag, which makes changing the battery more complicated. AppThis is probably a design decision.
