Gartner has revealed the latest data on the worldwide market share of mobile operating systems. A whopping 99,1% of all smartphones in the world now run on Android or iOS, which is a growth of 2,3% compared to the previous quarter, when these operating systems controlled "only" 96,8% of the global market.

Android continues to be the most widely used mobile operating system on the planet, with a market share of 86,2% in the last three months, while iOS the share fell to 12,9% from 14,6% in the same period last year. Windows a Blackberry currently only belongs to a very small 0,6% in the case of Windows Phone and 0,1% in the case of BlackBerryThe remaining 0,2% belongs to operating systems used by strange people.

It is interesting that iOS and Android controls over 99% of the entire market especially considering that Symbian or BlackBerry were introduced many years ago iOS and Android. Moreover, Symbian was used at one time by companies such as Nokia, Samsung, Sony and Motorola.
