At first glance, it looks like an ordinary LEGO minifigure, but in fact it is one of the greatest treasures ever discovered among LEGO fans. Specifically, it is about miniPeter figurine Jacksona, which was created at the time when LEGO was preparing its Lord of the Rings and Hobbit building kits and which never went on general sale. Moreover, until last year, practically no one outside LEGO knew about its existence. And one of its owners recently sold it for an incredible $38,028, which is roughly 850 thousand crowns.

LEGO Peter Jackson, which almost no one knew about

The story of this miniThe creation of the figures began around 2012, when LEGO launched the first Lord of the Rings sets and then The Hobbit. It was around this time that a special minia figurine of Peter himself Jackson, director of film trilogies. And this is not an ordinary minia figure that you might find in one of the building kits. LEGO reportedly only made about 20 of them as a gift for Peter Jacksona and the participants of the first meeting between LEGO and the film team.

That's what makes her story even more interesting, by the way. LEGO The Lord of the Rings went on sale in 2012, and the series itself featured dozens of well-known characters. Peter Jackbut son was never among them. Official LEGO miniSo you couldn't buy a figurine of the famous director in any store.

The figure also has several unique details

It's herself miniThe figure uses some common LEGO parts, such as the dark beige legs and the hairstyle familiar from the Hobbit figures. However, its own prints are essential. On the front of the torso, Peter has Jackson strung One ring on a chain and on the back there is the logo of the film Hobbit. The face print is also unique, which of course corresponds to the director himself. And it is the combination of the fact that LEGO only produced about 20 pieces, the figure was never publicly announced and was not part of any building kit that makes it completely unique.

But what's even more interesting is how one of these figures got to the public in the first place. In June 2025, former LEGO designer Marcos Bessa, who was going through his inventory for his BrickLink store at the time, discovered it and came across Peter. Jacksona. He himself admitted that he had a hard time finding anything about the figurine, because it seemed that practically no one knew about it before. Bessa then offered the figurine in a private auction on Instagram. And the interest was understandably huge. The first bids reached $15 in a short time. Nakonebut the price has climbed much higher.

$38,028 for one LEGO minifigurine

The winner of the auction was collector Samuel Burkhardt, known on Instagram as Rarest LEGO. Minifigures, which miniPeter figurine JackSona paid exactly $38,028. Converted to the current exchange rate, this amounts to around 850,000 crowns, which is a lot of money for a few grams of plastic.

Burkhardt is certainly no casual buyer. His collection includes a number of extremely rare LEGOs. minifigures including metal Star Wars figures, employee exclusives, a George Lucas figure or a complete LEGO Star Wars collection minifigurines. Peter JackThe son ended up in the hands of a person who knows exactly what he bought.

And maybe there are others

Perhaps the most interesting fact about the whole thing is that there were supposedly around 20 of these figures made. So this is definitely not the only one in the world. Some may still be in Peter's possession. Jackson, others could have stayed with the LEGO people or the film crew, and others could easily lie forgotten somewhere in the collection of a person who has no idea what he has at home. And that is precisely why this minifigure so interesting. It's not just an expensive LEGO figure. It's essentially a small piece of LEGO and Lord of the Rings film history that has been out of the public eye for over a decade.

So the next time you're going through your old LEGO collection from around 2012, it might be worth looking a little closer. Although in Peter's case Jacksona is shance, that you have it at home in a box, of course absolutely minismall.
