When you say METZ, the first question that probably comes to mind for most Czech customers is whether they even know this brand. I admit that this was one of the reasons why I was interested in the METZ 60MNH7000Z model. It is a new product of 2026 and on paper it offers a combination that looks almost suspiciously good considering the price. You get a 60″ diagonal, 4K resolution, QD-Mini LED technology, support for modern HDR formats and Google TV.

So we decided to see how the TV works in the real world. For two weeks, we used it as our main TV in the house, watching movies and series, connecting Apple TV and of course there was also some PlayStation gaming. And it turns out that the technical specifications table definitely doesn't tell the whole story.

First meeting: 60 inches is an interesting compromise

Even before we get to the picture itself, it's worth noting the size of the TV. A 60-inch diagonal is not nearly as common on the market today as 55 or 65 inches. However, this can be a surprisingly interesting advantage for many households.

When switching from a 55" TV, the difference is visible almost immediately. The picture looks bigger, movies are more immersive, and gaming can better immerse you in the action. At the same time, the TV is not yet as large as regular 65" models, which can be problematic in smaller living rooms.

After two weeks of use, I have to say that the 60" diagonal started to make a surprisingly big difference to me. If you sit about two and a half to three meters from the screen, it's a very comfortable size in my opinion.

The design won't offend, but don't expect a premium TV

The METZ 60MNH7000Z doesn't try to pretend to be a TV worth several thousand euros. The design is relatively simple and functional. When you first unpack it, you definitely won't experience the same feeling as with the most expensive OLED TVs from LG or premium models from Samsung.

On the other hand, the TV does not look cheap. The bezels around the display are thin enough that you practically stop noticing them when watching content. The overall design is unobtrusive, which I personally consider an advantage. In my opinion, the TV should primarily display a high-quality image and not draw unnecessary attention to itself.

When placed in the living room, METZ looks modern and does not lag behind competitors in the same price category.

First time use and Google TV

After turning it on, you will be greeted with the classic Google TV setup. If you have ever used a modern TV with this system, nothing will surprise you too much. You log in to your Google account, set up an internet connection and then you can start installing applications. Of course, the most popular streaming services are available, including Netflix, Disney+, YouTube or Amazon Prime Video.

I consider Google TV to be one of the biggest advantages of this TV. METZ is not trying to develop its own closed system, which after a few months you would find out that it lacks some important applications. However, during the two weeks of use, I increasingly returned to the external Apple TVThe reason is simple. In my opinion, tvOS is getting faster, clearer, and overall more enjoyable to use every day.

However, that doesn't mean Google TV in METZ is bad. Pro For most users, this will be perfectly sufficient, and if you don't want to buy additional equipment, you can use the TV out of the box without any problems.

The most important thing: what is the image?

This is where the METZ 60MNH7000Z really starts to get interesting. Considering the price range, it offers a combination of Quantum Dot technology and Mini LED backlight. And the difference compared to regular cheap LED TVs is visible. Of course, don't expect a picture at the level of the most expensive OLEDs or top-end Mini LED TVs. That wouldn't be realistic given the price. However, if you're upgrading from an older LCD TV or a cheaper entry-level 4K model, the difference can be very significant.

I was most surprised by the color rendering. They can be expressive and saturated without the image appearing unnatural when set to reasonable settings. Modern films, documentaries and animated content in particular look very good. When watching high-quality 4K video, the TV is able to create an image that I would definitely not have expected given its price a few years ago.

Mini LED is not just a marketing slogan on a box

The big question before testing began was whether the use Mini Does LED technology really matter in this price range, or is it primarily a good-looking figure in the technical specifications? After two weeks, I can say that it definitely matters.

This is most noticeable in the evening. Dark scenes are one of the biggest weaknesses of classic cheap LED TVs. The black color is actually more of a dark gray, and when watching a movie in a darkened room, the imperfection of the backlight is very visible.

METZ is doing better. Mini LED backlighting allows for more precise control of individual parts of the image, resulting in better contrast. Of course, black does not reach the perfection of an OLED panel, where individual pixels can be completely turned off, but considering the price of the TV, the result is very decent. You will notice the biggest difference in scenes where there are very dark and very bright objects at the same time. Typical examples are night shots of cities, space or subtitles displayed on a black background.

Of course, the limits of cheaper options are also shown here. Mini LED TV. A slight glow can be observed around very bright objects on a dark background under certain circumstances. This is a typical feature of LCD TVs with local dimming and the METZ is no exception. However, it did not bother me significantly during normal movie watching.

Apple TV was connected to the TV practically all the time

One of the main devices we used during testing was Apple TV. Pro readers Letem svetem Applem This is probably one of the most interesting parts of the entire review. The connection was of course via HDMI and the subsequent use was problem-free. It is with a quality image source that METZ can show what it really can do. Movies and series in 4K look very good and when watching quality HDR content, the difference compared to basic TVs is clearly visible.

Personally, I like the combination of METZ and Apple TV I also liked it because it removes one of the potential weaknesses of cheaper TVs, which is the performance of the integrated system. Apple TV It responds instantly, applications launch quickly, and the entire environment feels very smooth. If you've already Apple TV own, the METZ 60MNH7000Z makes even more sense in my opinion. You don't have to worry too much about the performance or future support of the TV's integrated system and you can focus primarily on the quality of the panel itself.

Movies and series: this is where METZ feels best

During testing, we tried several types of content. From regular TV shows to YouTube to modern movies in 4K HDR. And in my opinion, it is high-quality movie content that shows its best side.

The combination of a large diagonal, 4K resolution, Quantum Dot technology and Mini The LED backlight works surprisingly well. Movies have sufficiently vivid colors, good contrast, and the image can look very impressive when viewed in the evening.

However, it takes a few minutes to adjust the picture. TV default modes are often designed to appeal to customers in a brightly lit store, not to provide the most natural picture at home. Adjusting the settings can result in a much more pleasing picture.

PlayStation: how do games play on METZ?

The next part of the testing involved the PlayStation game console. And this is where you need to be realistic in your assessment. The METZ 60MNH7000Z is not a TV designed for the most demanding gamers who are looking for a top-notch 120Hz or 144Hz panel and want to take advantage of all the capabilities of the latest consoles.

The panel operates at a standard refresh rate of 50/60 Hz. This means that if you are choosing a TV primarily for playing competitive games at high frame rates, there are more suitable models. Pro However, in normal gaming the situation is completely different.

We tried action games, racing titles and a few graphically impressive story games. Thanks to the large screen and good contrast, games look very impressive. Especially titles with HDR support can take advantage of the panel's capabilities and the resulting experience is surprisingly good when playing in the evening.

If you are one of those gamers who turns on their PlayStation several times a week in the evening and primarily wants to enjoy a large, high-quality picture, you will probably be satisfied. However, if you are buying a TV primarily as a display device for your console and require maxminimum refresh rate, I would not choose the METZ 60MNH7000Z.

METZ 60MNHz

Classic TV shows the limits of large screens

It was interesting to watch classic television broadcasts. Here, a simple rule applies. The bigger and better quality TV you have, the easier it is to recognize the shortcomings of a poor-quality source. The image is without problems with high-quality HD channels. The situation is worse with stations broadcasting in lower quality.

On a 60″ screen, the compression deficiencies are easily visible. However, it is not the TV’s fault. You will encounter the same problem with practically any modern 4K TV with a large diagonal. If you mainly watch Netflix, Apple TV+, Disney+ or high-quality 4K content, you will be significantly more excited about the image than someone who watches low-definition television most of the day.

How's the sound?

Sound is an area where physics cannot be fooled. Modern TVs are getting thinner and thinner and there simply isn't enough space for large speakers. The METZ 60MNH7000Z is no exception.

Pro For normal TV viewing, news, YouTube or series, the integrated sound is sufficient. Dialogues are understandable and at normal volume I did not feel like I could not understand the TV. However, if you want a real movie experience, I recommend a soundbar or external speakers. The difference is especially noticeable with action movies and games. A large 60″ screen simply deserves corresponding sound.

Two weeks with Google TV

Google TV offers virtually everything you'd expect from a modern TV. You can install apps, use streaming services, play content from the internet, and take advantage of other smart home features.

During testing, the system worked without any major problems. However, I still prefer Apple TVThe difference is not so much in the features as in the overall feel of use. Apple TV It's faster, simpler, and I find its interface clearer. Of course, this is very subjective. The important thing is that if you don't own any external devices, Google TV will allow you to use your TV almost immediately out of the box.

What did I dislike about the METZ 60MNH7000Z?

After two weeks of use, there are of course a few things that could be better. The first is the panel refresh rate. The standard 60Hz will be sufficient for most people, but in 2026, affordable TVs with higher refresh rates are becoming more and more common.

If you are a demanding gamer, this is an important parameter. The second area is the sound. It is not outright bad, but the quality does not match how impressive the picture can be. The third reservation has to do with expectations from Mini LED technology. METZ offers very good contrast for its price, but you should not expect the performance of the most expensive Mini LED TVs or the perfect black of OLED panels. If you approach the TV with realistic expectations, you will probably be satisfied. If you expect the picture of a TV worth several thousand euros for a fraction of the price, you will be disappointed.

What pleasantly surprised me?

Definitely the ratio of price, size and image quality. Just a few years ago, the combination of 60″ diagonal, 4K resolution, Quantum Dot technology, Mini LED backlighting and support for modern HDR formats cost significantly more.

METZ shows how quickly television technology is reaching more affordable price categories. I was also very pleasantly surprised by watching movies in the evening. This is where the difference compared to regular cheap LED TVs is most noticeable. And the third pleasant surprise was the 60″ diagonal itself. Before testing it, I considered it more of an oddity between regular 55″ and 65″ TVs. However, after two weeks of use, it started to make a lot of sense to me.

Who would I recommend the METZ 60MNH7000Z to?

Especially for people who want a large TV with a high-quality picture, but don't want to spend the money required for premium models from better-known manufacturers. It can very well serve as the main family TV. You can watch movies, series, sports, YouTube and play games on it without any problems.

It is also a good choice for owners Apple TVIn this case, you will get a quality external system and you can use the most interesting thing that METZ offers - a large QD-Mini LED panel.

On the contrary, who wouldn't I recommend it to?

If you are an extremely demanding gamer and are looking for a TV primarily for gaming at 120 or 144 Hz, I would look for another model. I would also recommend considering a more expensive TV for people who demand the absolute best black levels, perfect local dimming, or premium construction. The METZ 60MNH7000Z is not a competitor to the most expensive TVs on the market. But it doesn't try to be one.

Verdict after two weeks of use

The METZ 60MNH7000Z is exactly the type of product that is very difficult to judge based on the logo on the front alone. If you don't watch TV much, the METZ brand may not mean as much to you as Samsung, LG or Sony.

However, after two weeks of use, I can say that it would be a mistake to automatically overlook this model. For a relatively affordable price, you get a large 60″ screen, 4K resolution, very decent colors, Mini LED backlighting, support for modern HDR formats and Google TV. Of course, the TV is not without compromises.

The 60 Hz refresh rate limits its appeal for the most demanding gamers, the sound deserves to be supplemented with a soundbar, and the image quality cannot match the most expensive OLEDs and Mini LED TVs.

But these are all compromises that make sense given the price range. The most important question is therefore: would I buy the METZ 60MNH7000Z as my main TV at home? If I were looking for the largest and most visually interesting TV for a reasonable price, I would definitely put it on my shortlist. And that is perhaps the highest praise I can give it after two weeks of use.
