Google is celebrating 10 years of its Google Photos app with a major update, including a brand new AI-powered editor that makes editing photos easier and faster.

AI will advise you on how to edit a photo

New AI tools offer automatic suggestions that combine effects, brightness, contrast, and color adjustments into a single click. Users can also tap on a specific part of an image to get targeted tips for editing that area.

The new editor also includes features like Reimagine and Auto frame , which automatically highlight the most important things in a photo. Classic tools like brightness or contrast adjustment remain intact.

Easier sharing with QR codes

In addition to editing, Google is also adding a new way to share albums - using a QR code. Users can generate a QR code, send it digitally or print it out for a wedding or party, for example . Anyone with the code can then view the album or add their own photos to it.

The update will first appear on Android devices, but it will arrive this year as well iOSGoogle Photos confirms its role one of the most popular photo storage services – it is used by more than 1,5 billion people every month and has over 9 trillion images and videos stored on it.
