iPhone Almost two weeks after its launch, the 16e is still facing some pretty harsh criticism from some Apple fans, who point out that it's an uninteresting, expensive, and generally pointless phone. But is that true? MiniAt least not in terms of photo capabilities – at least judging by my testing. The iPhone 16e's photo capabilities are comparable to both iPhonem 16 (Plus), so 16 Pro.
As in the previous article, however, take this comparison only as a small example of how cameras differ when shooting in good light. We will publish evening photo tests in our magazine as separate articles in the coming days and weeks, because they deserve special care and greater scope. At the same time, I would like to emphasize again that the following lines are not a review, but just an example of what you are able to "snap" on a walk without any major preparation.

While iPhone 16 Pro offers an aperture of ƒ/1,78 for the 48MP wide-angle or Fusion camera, while the 48MP wide-angle camera of the iPhone 16e also has an aperture of ƒ/1,6. Don't be fooled, though. Although it should have a similar aperture on paper iPhone 16e thanks to a lower aperture number on top, its sensor is significantly smaller than the 16 Pro, so it can capture less light and therefore less image data overall. You may not notice this at first glance, but if you play at home on a computer with zoom as I did below, you will notice the differences in detail. Specifically, on the sign you can see that the text in the photo of the iPhone 16e has a slightly greater tendency to "blend" than it does on the 16 ProBut honestly, there was a lot of zooming in and without such a zoom, one would not have noticed the loss of detail.

But what will you definitely notice when you compare photos from the iPhone 16e and 16 side by side? Pro you build, is how much they differ in color. Here too, as expected, I encountered a "discord" between the last generation of iPhones 16 and 16 Pro namely that it takes photos realistically and without software beautification of the scene. For this reason, photos from the iPhone look 16 Pro at least for me personally, sometimes a little worse than what I managed to pull out of the iPhone 16e. As in the previous photo test, however, what is photographed on iPhone 16 Pro, corresponds to reality much more than what he photographed iPhone 16e. So if you are looking for real photos, then iPhone The 16e won't be a real nut. On the other hand, I think that if the photo looks a little better than the scene actually looked, and you end up forgetting exactly what you took a picture of anyway, then the iPhone 16e is better for most users.
I don't want to make any major judgments yet, but after talking to you in the last few days... iPhonem 16e took quite a few pictures and then compared the photos with other iPhones, I think that if you can make do with just one camera, you don't have much to worry about. The 48MPx wide-angle camera of this model is not bad at all, quite the opposite. It certainly has some reserves in terms of details due to the smaller sensor and the color rendering in the photos is definitely a debatable issue. But overall, you can be sure that on iPhone 16e you will take really beautiful photos that will be almost as good as on Pro models, that is miniat least their wide-angle cameras. And given the software enhancement of scenes, they may actually be even better for some.

It seems to me that 16Pro much better sharpness. And the photos of 16e are slightly greenish. For me 16Pro takes better photos.

As I wrote last time:
For me, the 16e mixes in too much green-yellow in the style of older (not only) iPhones to "liven up" the scene for the 1st signal and also, again in the spirit of earlier times, digitally oversharpens and brightens the shadows too much. Any help, minia slightly private target will mostly be satisfied or even excited ;-)
Otherwise, according to previous reviews, the small sensor understandably has problems with decreasing light much earlier, where it then switches to night mode earlier.
The width of the aforementioned 12 is up to 12Mpx (which, compared to the 24Mpx "details" of the 16e, you can practically not distinguish) almost 100% equivalent to a single 16e wide, i.e. a small 1/2,55″ sensor, 26mm 'glass' f/1.6, as well as only standard OIS, with the 16e unfortunately only having basic PDAF and the 12e having better dual pixel PDAF – it's really noticeable, the 16e "takes" more blurry photos :-/
And if the 12 has 12Mpx ultrawide, it would be a sin not to take her ;-)
