For example, I took it for a few walks over the weekend to get a feel for its camera and get an idea of whether it has anything to offer in terms of photography capabilities. ProAfter all, the camera is one of the most important elements for many users, and its quality therefore decides whether a person will buy a certain model or not. In the following lines, you will be able to take a look at the comparison of photos from the iPhone 16e against the iPhone 16 (Plus), while I am preparing a few more comparisons in the coming days, led by iPhonem 16 Pro, 15 Pro or SE 2.

On paper, the wide-angle cameras of the iPhone 16e and 16 (Plus) are no different, except for stabilization. Both model lines have a 48MPx Fusion (wide-angle) lens with an aperture of f/1,6 and the ability to take photos both standardly and with 2x optical zoom, which in the end works "only" as a 12MPx crop of a 48MPx image and is therefore not a true optical zoom. Of course, there is True Tone Lightning, support Deep Fusion whether Smart HDR 5, support for portrait modes or night mode. Due to the absence ultraHowever, the wide-angle lens lacks macro support, as the wide-angle lens cannot focus at such short distances as is needed for macro, and there is also no support for spatial photos. As for stabilization, iPhone The 16e relies on optical image stabilization, while iPhone 16 (Plus) for optical image stabilization with sensor shift. What's even more interesting, however, is that although the wide-angle cameras look the same, they are apparently not the same.

What surprised me quite a bit, but honestly I don't know if it was negative or positive, is how significantly you iPhone 16e photos compared to iPhonem 16 (Plus) or 16 Pro I had all three of these models with me on my walk (photo test from iPhone 16 Pro will arrive in the next few days) with the fact that often the photo from the iPhone 16e came out visually the best. It was the most pleasing to the eye, because it was overall the most colorful and simply the most visually pleasing. The catch, however, is that the most beautiful and the most pleasing does not equal the most realistic. For example, the sky, which iPhone 16e captured, it was not nearly as blue as he himself portrayed, but on the contrary, it had a bit of a grayish tinge, as is the case in the images from the iPhone 16 Plus.
So it seems to me that with the iPhone 16e I'm coming across exactly what I came across last fall when I compared the cameras of the iPhones 15 and 16, or rather 15 Pro to 16 Pro. Even then it seemed to me that the "16" cameras didn't take better photos in the sense of some visual evaluation of the photo, but rather in the sense of capturing the real scene. The amount of details and so on was quite comparable to the 15 series (Pro), but visually, there were quite significant differences, especially in the colors, which is still the case now. But I don't dare to say whether it's good or not, for one reason only - everyone perceives photos differently and appreciates different things in them.
However, I think that if someone is not really into photography, but only does it as an occasional hobby and activity that is supposed to provide them with nice memories for the future rather than something they would like to exhibit in galleries, then a certain amount of embellishment of the photo is ultimately positive for them. ProThis means that you won't end up taking a bad photo, as the software will remove the flaws for you, and you'll be looking at a really nice result. And while with many Pro Although this would generally be a problem, because it can be expected to be used by truly demanding users, content creators, and the like, for the iPhone 16e it's actually more of a win for me. ProMy mom and other undemanding users like her don't really care whether the photo matches the real scene 1:1, but rather whether it's "just" pretty to look at, which is what the iPhone 16e is.

Hi Jirko, there must have been a typo, the 48Mpx 1/2,55″ sensor should be from ultrawidth 16 Pro/Max, the one in 15 Pro/Max It physically has 12Mpx.
For me, the 16e mixes in too much green-yellow in the style of older (not only) iPhones to "liven up" the scene for the 1st signal and also, again in the spirit of earlier times, digitally oversharpens and brightens the shadows too much. Any help, minia slightly private target will mostly be satisfied or even excited ;-)
Otherwise, according to previous reviews, the small sensor understandably has problems with decreasing light much earlier, where it then switches to night mode earlier.

So you are confusing the sensor and the “camera”. The latter is a system of the sensor, optics, including various design specifics. The former (the sensor) is a photosensitive area of a certain size, with a certain number of pixels (48Mpx is 48 million pixels on an area smaller than the nail of a short-cut little finger) and with certain properties, such as sensitivity, etc. And the sensor here is probably the same as the 16 Pro in his ultrashikokachi, but he has a system in front of him that "sees" a wider range. 16e, however, only has onen sensor, the optics are the same on paper as the basic 16/15. The 16e only has the basic camera, but uses a sensor that has 16 Pro v ultraśikokáči, it is smaller and, as you can see in the samples, even worse. Its angle of view is the same as the basic 16/15 camera. And the wider angle of view is simply missing here.
