If you're looking for quality wireless headphones, you don't have to spend a fortune on them right away. There are a number of mid-range wireless headphones on the market, but many of them make necessary concessions due to the low price. Then there are headphones from the JBL brand, which has a decent reputation in the global headphone and speaker market. I got my hands on the JBL Tune Flex 2 headphones, which play very well, have advanced features, and offer great options in the app. Let's take a look at them.
Package contents
Before we get into the analysis itself, let's first take a look at the contents of the package. The headphones arrive in a fairly attractive box, on which you will find, in addition to a picture of the design of the headphones, a list of essential technical specifications. In addition to the headphones, the package also includes a charging cable (orange), a manual, three earplugs and a box for one pair of earplugs. The contents of the package are therefore above standard, and the earplug box is particularly noteworthy, which I have not seen with any other product.
Technical Specifications
Now let's take a look at the technical specifications. These are wireless headphones with Bluetooth 5.3 supporting A2DP V1.4, AVRCP V1.6.2, HFP V1.8 profiles. The headphones have a 12 mm dynamic driver, a frequency response of 20 Hz - 20 kHz and an impedance of XNUMX V.anci 13 ohms. The weight of one earphone is 4,4 grams. The weight of the charging case is 32,9 grams. The dimensions of the earphone are 34,63 x 20,32 x 19,59 mm and the charging case 51,43 x 47 x 29,14 mm. The box is therefore really small and fits perfectly in any pocket. It is also worth mentioning the great battery life, which will depend on your method of use. With the ANC The headphones will last up to 12 hours on a single charge. Once you turn this feature on, the manufacturer claims that the battery life will be up to 8 hours. If you use the headphones often for phone calls, you will also be satisfied. Without ANC The headphones can handle 5 hours. With ANC 4,5 hours. JBL Tune Flex 2 have a wide range of uses and can also be used in sports. The presence of IP54 certification proves that the headphones are designed for "uncomfortable conditions". So they don't mind rain or dust.
There's more to it than that, of course. The Smart Ambient feature is definitely worth a mention. Ambient Aware lets you control how much ambient noise you want to hear. TalkThru lets you communicate with your surroundings without having to take your headphones out of your ears. I'll mention more interesting tech gadgets below.
Design
Let's also look at the design. Honestly, in terms of design, it is extremely difficult to impress customers with wireless headphones these days. And apparently, except for premium models, no one is even trying to do that anymore. These are black headphones made of plastic with a stick that has a touch surface for control. For skipping tracks, answering calls, etc. Basically, you can say that the headphones are great. However, once you remove the cap, you turn them into earbuds. Whether you do so will affect the sound performance, which you can customize in the application (open/closed design). As I mentioned, the box is really small and fits almost anywhere. It is black. On the front you can see the JBL logo and LEDs indicating the battery status of the box. On the bottom you can find USB-C. I rate the design of the headphones as average. It neither inspires nor offends. But personally, the design of headphones is the last thing I'm interested in. And these headphones are definitely not about first-class and innovative design.
Application
We won't beat around the bush. The JBL Tune Flex 2 headphones have a truly superior application that will help you adapt the musical expression to your needs and preferences. You will find classic functions here, such as an equalizer. It has six preset modes. You can also choose your own mode and play with the curves in your own way. The equalizer is truly consistent and you will notice even the slightest change when listening. ProSo I would only try to adjust the equalizer if you have experience with it. It can very easily happen that you literally kill their potential by adjusting it yourself.
In the section Spatial Sound you can then choose whether the sound should be adapted to a movie, music or game. There is also a Person-Fi 3 function, which ensures that the sound is exactly made for you. You do this based on a few minutes of testing your hearing. In the application you will also choose between ANC, Ambient Aware and TalkThru, adjust gestures or choose between an open or closed headphone system (depending on whether you use earbuds). The application is not in Czech, but that doesn't matter. It is extremely clear and very well organized. I recommend going through it honestly, because thanks to this application you squeeze the most out of your headphones maximum. I dare say that it is essential for listening.
Sound
The most important thing about headphones is, of course, their sound. When I first paired and tried the JBL Tune Flex 2, I was not at all impressed. They sounded average or even below average. The sound was clean, but it lacked some dynamics. My perspective completely changed as soon as I started playing with the sound in the app. I will repeat myself, the app is a complete game changer. I played with Person-Fi 3, put on the earbuds, adjusted the bass and the result was amazing. It is truly amazing how rough and lively the music and bass are capable of these headphones when set up correctly.
It's no secret that I'm a big fan of good bass. If you're the same way, these headphones will surprise you. The bass is so pronounced that at times I felt like the headphones had a completely different price tag. For the first time ever, I thought to myself about the bass, "This is too much for me." But you really need to test and play with the sound. In addition to Person-Fi, the settings also play a role in the bass. ANC or closed/open headphone system. Every detail is crucial here and even if you feel like you have achieved maxYes, a slight change in the settings can improve the sound even more.
A slight disappointment for me is ANC, which is not very active. Even in less noisy environments I could hear the surroundings quite clearly, which is a shame. However, the price tag is in the middle class. And if you turn down the music, you really won't hear anything at all. Whether ANC you have it turned on or not.
Summary
JBL Tune Flex 2 is at the top of the mid-range headphones. Excellent battery life, great technology and excellent sound and an application that should be a model for other manufacturers. A combination that is really worth it for 2590 CZK. If for some reason the shape of the headphones does not suit you, JBL offers all the versions of TWS headphones that exist. Maybe it will suit you better Jbl tune Buds 2 or JBL Tune Beam 2.

If you want to save, we managed to negotiate a 5% discount for the first 20, after entering the code "JBLTUNE2LSA20". In addition to the JBL Tune Flex 2, the discount also applies to the JBL Tune Buds 2 and JBL Tune Beam 2.
I bought my girlfriend a pair of Tune Flex Ones, the sound is pretty good but the durability is not that great - after a year and a quarter, I complained because the case stopped charging.
It should also be noted that JBL was the first to come up with a hybrid between pips and plugs.
