Last week, the video of Meta boss Mark Zuckerberg went viral not only in the technological world, discussing how the 7x cheaper Meta Quest 3 headset is in many ways better than Apple Vision Pro. Although Zuckerberg received solid criticism and ridicule for this video, and some would therefore expect that he would no longer want to return to it and, on the contrary, would try to forget it, the opposite is true. In an interview on the Morning Brew Daily podcast, he talked about this video and not only about it - he also talked about iPhones and Apple fans.

Right at the beginning of the interview, Zuckerberg revealed specifically what led him to release the recent rather controversial video. However, do not expect that there is any deeper reasoning behind his decision. In short, he was just annoyed by the media fuss around Vision Pro puts the Quest 3 in the position of a significantly worse headset.

"I just saw that the media sort of thinking around it and making a direct comparison assumed that because it's (Vision Pro – note ed.) Apple and since it was such an expensive product as if it had to be of better quality. And that's despite a lot of people saying: hey, no, you should buy the Quest 3 because it's better value for money.

I just wanted to point it out and say that just because this thing costs seven times more doesn't mean it's better. If you really go through the uses of this thing, Quest 3 does really well. And I'm really proud of the work we've done. So I just wanted to say that,” specifically Zuckerberg commented on his video.

Given that Zuckerberg's video was quite controversial and at the same time comparable to the legendary video of Steve Ballmer, the former boss Microsoftu, who leaned heavily on this phone after the release of the first iPhone, is the one that many people are now blaming for Zuckerberg. According to some, he will be the "modern Ballmer", since the world will laugh at Zuckerberg for many years after the release of this video, just as he was laughed at to some extent Vision Pro. But Zuckerberg disagrees:

"Already is Vision Pro I'm not mocking. Apple on the contrary, I take it seriously. I think it's a good company that does good work. I'm just stating the facts as I see them today. I'm not saying it won't get better (Vision Pro – note ed.), but we will improve too. And also, we're a company that innovates pretty quickly, so I actually think we'll probably innovate faster than Apple."

And when Zuckerberg started evaluating Applu a Vision Pro, he briefly began to evaluate apple growers as such, about whom he specifically said the following:

“I think among the fans of the company Apple there is an atmosphere that I find a bit funny. A lot of his fans just get mad when you dare to question that Apple is about to take a leading position in the new space.

If you look at the history of computing, every major generation has had some sort of open model where it's been more partnership-oriented, more developer-friendly. And then there's the closed model where it's usually just Apple, which basically just tightly integrates all of its stuff together.

However, he has already won in the field of mobile devices Apple. Sure, there are more Android phones in the world, but basically Apple from a business perspective, it won. In all developed countries where people could afford their products, people basically prefer iPhone. "

So as you can see for yourself, Zuckerberg still stands by his beliefs about the concept Vision Pro is worse than what Meta is doing. The main problem is probably not so much in the hardware features, but rather in the openness and closure of the platform as such, with Zuckerberg simply believing that openness will be far better for users in the future than closure. Applu. But only time will tell what the reality will be.
