Even though I have W12, V8 and V6 engines in my collection, I like to drive the daily V8 as a pensioner and, especially around town, I don't see much point in trying to start at every traffic light like Max Verstappen. I like using the My BMW app just because it's practically the only way to turn on the auxiliary heater even when you're still a few kilometers away from your car. Last summer, the app added an interesting new feature that motivates you every month and every year to try to save fuel.
Because it compares you to how other owners of the same car drive and, in addition to showing you how many trips they make compared to you per month or year, it also shows you their time behind the wheel and, most importantly, their fuel consumption. In the overview, you can see how many trips you made in a single month, how many distances you covered and what your average consumption was. In addition, you can see the average consumption for a given month compared to your previous month, but also compared to other owners of the same vehicle. If you have a consumption of 15 liters per hundred, the others 10, then you know that something is wrong and you can tame yourself a little with your foot on the gas.
However, what is most interesting is the annual summary, where I found that I traveled 30 km with just one of my vehicles last year and used 000 liters of fuel. If you only fill up with 186,5 octane, then you will easily realize that this fun cost you CZK 100 per year + maybe it is better to take another car sometime or take your foot off the gas more often than now. So, if you haven't used the My BMW application for a long time or, for example, you don't have it installed yet, it's definitely a good idea to try it, either to control the car or, for example, to motivate you to save fuel.
13 l per 100 ... and I thought that nowadays modern cars are much more economical .... :-O This is a file like a tank…
Hey, it's a V8 and 530 horsepower with shoebox aerodynamics... but the fact is that a 15 year old Bentley w12 is staring at me on the highway max 16l
And if you have a V8 with 530 horsepower for daily driving, do you often carry anything more than yourself and a laptop in it? I'm just saying that a car with a regular engine and a consumption of 4 liters can easily carry this.
Or I can walk, without any problems... you can carry a laptop on foot, what about a car... I don't know, I can't solve it somehow
Exactly. If my car has matured so much, then I go to the service center because something is very bad.
And your car has a V8 and 530 horsepower? How much less does it burn? .... I don't understand this comparison ....
My car drinks 6,5 liters when I cough on it. 5,5 when I try a little. A long way to 13. Although I don't have a million horses, but... when riding in convoys and driving on the highway at a steady speed with cruise control, it doesn't matter at all.
Sure, everyone can ride what they want and for how much they want...
Unfortunately, modern cars eat like a cow. With the same driving style, the V8 doesn't grab me much more than the "supercharged" I4.
I don't know, if I take my supercharged Fabia, even if I drive as hard as I can and don't shift more than 13th, I still won't be able to handle XNUMX liters.ancand get.
I probably wouldn't compare úlní fabia with this one
@Karel I wrote "supercharged" cars, I meant something that has more than 300 horsepower in a small volume, not the Fabia. 😉
It would be nice if she still motivated the driver to turn on the blinker.
Look, I don't see these prejudices. I have never in my life allowed myself not to turn on the blinker, even when I am driving alone on the whole road....
You should already have approx. I have been observing for 2 years. And I can say with a clear conscience that, as far as flashing is concerned, BMW drivers are quite good at it, for example compared to Škoda cars. They are not only often bothered by the blinker, but quite often they are also bothered by driving.
KRKr.: I also notice and agree with Skoda, I would add Hyundai and Central Bohemia+Brno to them. On the contrary, the most polite drivers are usually from Prague and precisely BMW and Audi owners.
Anyway, I use Fuelio to monitor consumption, I write it down every time I fill up and I have an overview. Somehow I don't need to compare myself to other drivers. On the other hand, there is certainly no such application for the Mazda MX-5 nb and I have no idea for the Mercedes-Benz CLA.
I mean, I don't want to say anything, I do it too, I turn on my turn signal, irrationally, but completely automatically, even though it doesn't make sense. Even in places where there is no one far away who shouldancI can see that too. It reminded me of the principle of superposition from school, what do quantum particles do when we're not looking at them? They blink ;)
"On the contrary, the most polite drivers are usually from Prague and precisely BMW and Audi owners."
Thanks for the good joke, I have a better morning now.
30 thousand and 186,5 liters of fuel? I use 200 liters for 3 thousand. And I definitely don't nestdrawbar 150 thousand.
