Today we celebrate the national holiday of the Day of the Fight for Freedom and Democracy and the International Day of Students – November 17. This date is associated with two major events in our 20th century history. November 17, 1939, when the Nazis closed Czech universities. This happened immediately after the funeral Janand Opletala, which was actually an act against the German occupation. The second event happened in 1989 and is connected with student protests on Národní třída, which were violently suppressed by the Public Security. The unrest then escalated into the Velvet Revolution. The events contributed to the fall of the disgusting communist regime and the relegation of communist pigs to the sidelines. Since 1989 completely changed our country, there are several documentaries about it, free of charge on YouTube.
