The fact that new, higher prices are on the way has not been hidden by Netflix for some time now. They also make no secret of the fact that they will also add a completely new level of subscription, which will include a lower monthly fee, but at the expense of having to watch ads. However, until now it was not known what price Netflix will choose for individual tariffs, especially for the new one, which includes advertisements.
According to the agency Bloomberg, who managed to get access to Netflix's internal information, will be the new variaThe ad-free subscription will cost between $7 and $9, which is quite a high amount, considering that the cheapest subscription in the US currently costs $9,99. However, the question remains what quality of playback will be available in this tariff, because for the cheapest plan so far, at $9,99, users have the option to play videos only in 480p quality.

In the Czech Republic, Netflix's European prices apply, which are significantly cheaper than those charged by the company in the USA. While the cheapest 480p streaming costs the aforementioned $9,99 in the USA, it is €7,99 in our country. Netflix charges $15,49 for the second highest quality tariff in the USA, while in the Czech Republic we pay only €9,99 for it. This tariff offers 1080p playback quality. The most expensive tariff costs $19,99 in the USA, while in our country it is "only" €11,99 and offers playback in 4K HDR quality. On the other hand, Netflix has already increased its prices in the USA, but is only preparing to do so in Europe, and the question is whether we can then expect the same prices as they currently are in the USA or whether they will be slightly lower.
But let's get back to the ads. According to BloombergThere will be ads both before and during the playback of movies and series, and Netflix plans to show four minutes of ads every hour. Traditional TV stations show 10 to 20 minutes of ads per hour. Users will not be able to skip ads or access any controls during the playback of an ad. Netflix wants to make sure that ads are not repeated too often and that users watch as many different ads as possible. In addition to the need to watch ads, the lowest subscription will also have fewer features. For example, it will not be possible to download shows and movies for offline playback.
I'm cancelling Netflix in that case.
No one will force you to switch to the version with ads.
