Yesterday, the Russian space agency Roskosmos showed a model of the planned space station (ROSS). This only confirms reports of Russia intending to leave the International Space Station (ISS) in the future. The new head of the agency, Yuri Borisov, said a few weeks ago that Russia intends to leave the ISS after 2024 and build its own space station. Yesterday, at the military-industrial forum Armija-2022, the agency revealed what the station should look like.

The station was said to be built in two phases. In the first phase, the functionality of four modules is expected. During the second, two more should join, including the service platform. However, no specific date was given. The media indicate that the first stage is planned for 2025 to 2026. No later than 2030. The second stage should start in 2030 to 2035. The Russians do not expect that astronauts will be on the station all the time. Human presence is counted twice a year, for a longer period of time. ROSS is also intended to give astronauts a far better view of Earth than they currently have in their segment on the ISS. Therefore, the monitoring of the earth's surface should be a bit better. Whatever Russia's plans or statements are, NASA and the White House claim that they have not received any request from Russia to withdraw from the ISS project. You can see the station model below this paragraph. What do you say about her?
