ProA program focused on growing crops in space is celebrating success. Astronauts last week tasted radishes that were grown on the International Space Station (ISS). Until now, only leafy greens have been grown and tasted aboard the station. In similar cases, the experiment is carried out by freezing food grown on the ISS and transporting it to Earth for scientific analysis. But so far, only 10 of the 19 radishes have been transported to Earth. Astronaut Kathleen Rubins said that the vegetables tasted like they came from the garden.
