That Apple is working on its own AR/VR headset and, apparently, smart glasses, which will be very similar in design to classic ones, has become, with a bit of exaggeration, almost an open secret in recent years. From the side AppHowever, we have not yet received official confirmation of the development and all the information we currently have is therefore at the level of speculation. However, the fact that it is based on truth has now been indirectly confirmed by the US itself in an interview with China Daily. Tim Cookwho is at the head of AppIt has been standing for many years.

When the conversation turned to augmented reality, or AR if you prefer, Cook actually just repeated the words thatoneplease WWDC in 2017 – that is, he is absolutely enthusiastic about it and sees extreme potential in it. Currently, it is supposed to be in App Store over 14 supported applications ARKitwhich offers some AR elements to millions of people around the world. However, it is Cook convinced that the current state of AR headsets is not entirely good and that AR itself is not yet very advanced, on the contrary, it is still in its infancy. At the end of the passage about augmented reality, Cook innocently remarked "Augmented reality is still in its infancy, so there are plenty of opportunities to take advantage of it. And you should stay tuned to her wave and see what we can offer you".

Although the pilot Applu did not directly reveal that “his” company is developing an AR/VR headset and glasses, given that it already has a software solution in the form of AR applications, hardware and its advancement to the next level are absolutely inevitable. If he really sees such potential in augmented reality as he claims, specialized hardware for its consumption is inevitable. After all, with iPhones and iPads, this is more of an additional function.
