What five thousand phones can do... Look at the great mobile light show from the OCTAGON

The mixed martial arts organization OKTAGON MMA has already shown many times in the past how great a show it can put on for its fans and how it constantly manages to raise the bar. When OKTAGON returned to Štvanice after 18 months of tournaments without spectators, who could not attend sporting events due to the coronavirus rules, they raised the bar a little higher. And all it took was a few hundred cell phones and the right words in quotes.

It was the right moment of satisfaction when the favorite of the home audience, Miloš Petrášek, after less than two years and after three defeats in a row, stepped into the cage again and managed to finish off his opponent to a huge ovation and get the much-desired victory. When he announced in his post-match speech that he and his wife were expecting their first child, he moved the audience. Little did the audience know that this was just an appetizer. Then promoter, co-owner and main voice of the organization Ondřej Novotný took the floor and disarmed even the biggest cynic with his speech.

“The last time I spoke to you, the audience, like this at the O2 Arena, it was when my mother died. I told you that you should never give up on your biggest dreams, that everything is possible, you just have to not give up,” Novotný started. “Each of us can be better and there is a fighter in each of us,” he continued after highlighting, in addition to the sports heroes present, Patrik Berger, Karolína Muchová, Patrik Schick and others, his wife Renata Langmanová as his greatest personal hero. In the meantime, however, the audience present was already standing and clapping, and many of them could not help but shed tears. Everyone found something in Ondřej Novotný’s emotional speech that aroused positive emotions in them. Then the entire audience turned on the flashlights in their phones together.onech and created a unique shot of the open stadium in Štvanice.

“There are five drones above us. I know it's not allowed, but fuck it. One, two, three," Novotný counted down and set off the fireworks together with the lit phones. The video of the entire speech and subsequent fireworks captured by a drone has over 130 views on the organization's official YouTube channel and has literally gone viral. OKTAGON often mentions that they have the best fans in the world, they will now move to Bratislava, where another attractive tournament is coming up this week. How will OKTAGON raise the bar this time?
