Customize AirDIYer Andrew Ngai also decided to make a wallet tracking tag, capturing his creation on video and posting it on YouTube. All he had to do was remove the internal electronics. AirTag, which was relatively easy after it was completely heated up and the adhesive loosened, and then inserted into a pre-prepared 3D plate, which he then inserted into the slot for payment cards. The result of his efforts is more than good – from a roughly 8 mm wide AirTagu has created a device with a width of around 3,2 mm, which is already very usable for wallet tracking purposes. Locators Airtag arrived on store shelves exactly a week ago and so far they have been met with rather mixed reactions. Their functionality is very good, but they lack a few details that are simply disappointing - for example, a notification warning about their disconnection from the "parent" iPhone or similar gadgets. However, these things could arrive in one of the firmware updates in the coming weeks or months.
