It wasn't long ago that we informed you about the new microsite Appdedicated to the movement of its users in connection with the coronavirus. All data Apple obtained anonymously from the application Apple Maps and this is just to show how intensively users traveled during the peak of the coronavirus outbreak – whether on foot, by public transport or by car. At first, this page only revealed the world's largest metropolises and national overviews, but now individual Czech and Slovak regions have also been added to it. Thanks to this, you can see how actively the residents of your region have been moving in recent weeks.

Although the entire microsite looks like Czech, the names of individual regions often have to be written in English into the search engine. He can understand some Czech names and translate them into English himself, but unfortunately he can't quite cope with others. As for the data itself, it is really very interesting. They beautifully show both the tightening of government measures, which culminated in the announcement of free movement of people, and the gradual relaxation of prohibitions, while the last days look almost like before the onset of the coronavirus in most regions. The exception is, of course, Prague, which is the most affected by the coronavirus and in which the movement is not yet in full swing. In addition, due to the planned further waves of loosening measures, it is more or less clear that the curve will approach the normal from the beginning of the year and in the following weeks and months, until it remains there completely.

Although the data is Applu very interesting, they should be taken with a certain reserve. As I mentioned above, it is based on data obtained through Apple Maps used for navigation. However, since not too many Czechs and Slovaks use them for navigation, this fact must be taken into account. The data logically reflects only a relatively small group of people, who may have slightly different habits than users Google Maps or other navigations.
