For almost three weeks now, the Czech Republic has been talking about nothing but the coronavirus pandemic, which is increasingly affecting it. The fact that the situation is quite serious is confirmed not only by government measures, but also by various civic and corporate initiatives emerging in an effort to protect the nation from infection as best as possible. Mapy.cz from Seznamka has now come up with a very interesting piece of news . Their mobile application will now let you know whether you have come into contact with a person infected with coronavirus.

In the app update released yesterday mapy.cz pro iOS and Android has received a new feature in the form of a notification based on the user's location about a possible encounter with the infection. As soon as this happens (the application evaluates the encounter thanks to anonymous data about infected people compared with the user's location), it will notify the user via a notification on the phone. This way, the user will be aware of the possible risk of infection and will adapt its further operation accordingly.  "Users' location data will of course be anonymous and separate from other map functions. You will therefore not need to log in to the application,” said the head of development for the Seznam Zprávy website Map.cz Martin Jeřábek and added: "Of course, the more people get involved, the more effective our efforts will be."

To activate the new feature, simply launch the application after the update, which in this case has iOS 5.4.0, and enable data sharing. The great thing is that all data obtained and stored by Seznam will be deleted from its servers after the pandemic is over. So you don't have to worry about it being sold or anything like that. There will be no such thing - the application is really only intended to stop the spread of coronavirus. So it's definitely worth installing it and enabling location sharing.
