When the first information about the coronavirus appeared on the Internet a few days ago, few of us thought that it could spread from China to the whole world, including to the Czech Republic. It was practically only expected that the coronavirus would fail to stop at China's borders, and that it would primarily affect the surrounding areas. However, the whole situation has gotten out of control, and desperate situations call for desperate measures - that is, in most states. Taiwan, which is just over 150 kilometers away from China, managed to ward off the coronavirus very quickly, but above all in an elegant and modern way.

Taiwan is currently in a situation where virtually all public places are open. You can eat in a restaurant in Taiwan without any problems, and students continue to attend schools there. Even though it's currently too late and we can't go back in time, Taiwan is an inspiration for future similar situations that can happen again without the slightest problem. But let's look at all of Taiwan's actions one by one. Already on December 31, 2019, when the Chinese authorities announced increased numbers of people with pneumonia, Taiwan began to act. It immediately started checking and monitoring passengers who returned to Taiwan from Wuhan, and later started checking such passengers who returned to Taiwan from Wuhan since December 20. All passengers who were found to have even the slightest hint of an illness had to remain in quarantine. A few days later, Taiwan, as the first country in the world, decided to cancel all flights to and from Wuhan.
Thanks to these early measures and mainly because of the people who firmly and fundamentally observed the quarantine, Taiwan has recorded only 50 infected people for the time being. In addition, 20 people have already recovered and only one patient has died. China, only 170 kilometers (which is the distance from Brno to Ostrava, for example), records over 80 cases (now it should be noted that around 60 have been cured) and of these over XNUMX deaths. The key to slowing down the spread of the virus is strict adherence to quarantine and, above all, its control. According to The Guardian magazine, Shawn Bryant went into a two-week quarantine immediately after returning to Taiwan from South Korea. Immediately at the airport, the police wrote down his phone number, added his details to the database and immediately sent him home. Bryant is then contacted by the police every day to make sure he is indeed at home. After moving away from his current "home", due to moving to another accommodation, he immediately received a message on his phone that he had left the quarantine, and if he did not return to it, he would have to pay a fine - and this is how it works for other people in quarantine.

In this case, Taiwan has already learned from the SARS virus, when during its rampage over 150 thousand people remained in quarantine and 73 of the 346 infected died. All the measures that are ordered include various bans, special databases and of course quarantine. Every day after that, police officers or employees go around Taiwanancfrom various local authorities to check people in quarantine. Other measures include, for example, temperature measurements before entering a restaurant, special desk dividers in schools and, of course, the necessity of using masks or respirators together with regular hand washing. Taiwan is managing all this despite the fact that it was excluded from the WHO three years ago under pressure from China. The whole world, especially its inhabitants, should therefore learn a lesson from Taiwan and people should strictly follow the state's regulations without circumventing them.

It is not an art to have technology, but to be able to really use it when needed.
Or typical for Czechs: there is no art in issuing a law/regulation, but there is an art in enforcing compliance... and this applies to the entire Western world - individual freedom is always above the law.one.....
From the beginning, when I personally learned about the infection for the first time, I say that any measures, not only in CR, were taken too late. And that is primarily due to the mammon of some individuals, from Mr. Buresi et al.!!!!!!!!
Now the government continuously brags about the priority of the implementation of the measure, but in reality it is an attempt to cover up its own stupidity and inability to protect citizens.
The vast majority of those who lived mainly in I should have remained there in quarantine, not be invited to return!! This is especially true for those who, despite the threat, went to I, for example, to ski!!
The same applies to the latter!! It was not and is not in the power of the body to ensure quarantine for everyone.
Check mechanisms do not exist or are incompetent!!
The reason why there are 293 positives for NE. pr., he is the one who made it possible for these people to return, and they keep coming back and coming!!! The number of eaters will increase!!
Don't worry, I won't cancel a trip that cost me tens of thousands just because of some flu.
Selfish and social, why not cancel the trip. He himself will not survive a month without work because he has no money for it. 😁
A selfish and ignorant person does not have the opportunity to travel or the right to vote.
You need to see further than your finger. The mortality rate for people over 80 years old is approximately one in seven infected people.
You really don't have older parents, grandparents, etc.?
Do you really want the hospitals to collapse and thereby limit their overall operation so that it will also affect people who happen to have a heart attack or similar at this time?
At the beginning, there was a similar thinking in Italy... where you can see them today.
Isn't Taiwan an island? I don't know why you're comparing distances, when you certainly have better control over the borders of the island than here and everywhere else on the mainland.... Plus Taiwan is not a model of democracy where everyone does what they want….
