According to testers iOS 13.4 Beta 2, car key sharing will be done through the Messages app. Users who receive shared keys will be able to use them on both their iPhone and Apple Watch either once, temporarily or permanently. As for the security of the keys, the second beta dispelled concerns about its insufficient level. The keys will be able to be used both in “express mode”, thanks to which it will not be necessary to use them when unlocking or starting Touch ID, Face ID or PIN, as well as in the classic safe mode known for example from Apple Pay. The latter will therefore require verification through codes, i.e. facial scans or fingerprints, for activation. Thus, users will not have to worry that if they accidentally lose their phone, their car would automatically be at risk.
