PR: 44 percent of Czechs are considering changing their car in the next three years, but a tenth do not want to own one. This is according to a recent survey by the Behavio agency among 1,000 respondents for the company Driveto, which offers long-term car rental.
Service Driveit has been on the market since May 2017 and is part of the Miton investment group. In 2018, the company launched DriveThis is a club where those interested in a car do not have to provide proof of their financial history and can drive away with their chosen new car within three days. They can also return it at any time.
When choosing a car, certainty about the car's past plays a major role, which is key for 50 percent of people and important for another 41 percent.
Almost half of people (45%) want to choose a car online in the comfort of their own home, ideally quickly and easily. Only 19% of people perceive a car as a status symbol, and 12% of respondents want to drive a rented car regularly.
At the same time, however, the respondents would welcome it if they could get rid of the worries associated with the purchase and especially the operation of the car. They especially appreciate the peace of mind of a long-term rental, the possibility to return the car at any time and also to buy it back at a favorable price.
It is essential for drivers to choose their car. They prefer to do so all by themselves, or participate in its selection. Just under a quarter of people drive a car that someone else has chosen for them.
When it comes to bodywork, station wagons clearly lead the way. Conversely, fewer respondents prefer MPVs and SUVs.
Almost 30 percent of drivers had a specific brand selected in advance, 35 percent were deciding between several brands. Less than a third purchased a Škoda, followed by nine percent each of Ford or Volkswagen. Pro For Skoda owners, brand choice was key, and it is also important for people with Volkswagen and Ford. On the other hand, people driving Renault say that it is not important.
When buying a car, a quarter of Czechs prefer a new car, 12 percent choose a brand-new demonstration car, and every other one buys a used one. At the same time, the majority of people, 65%, purchase a car priced up to CZK 200.
Almost a third of people bought a car in a bazaar and 31 percent from an authorized dealer, 17 percent from a friend and 15 percent from an advertisement. A quarter of people paid from 80.000 to 110.000 CZK for a car, and the same proportion paid more than 290.000 CZK. A fifth of people paid less than 50.000 for their last car.
61 percent of domestic drivers get behind the wheel almost every day, and the same proportion use one car. People with higher incomes mainly drive every day. Women and people with an income of up to 10.000 thousand crowns are more likely to be holiday drivers.
Excellent, these "surveys". 2/3 of the people in Bohemia cannot afford a new car, that's why there are so many used cars here. :) Another survey.
I'm also considering buying a Ferrari. Or I'm "considering" going to the moon sometime when it's available...
