Can you guess what the rankings of the most searched expressions for the world and for our republic look like? Google has published the results of the most searched terms for this year on its official blog. This ranking is very popular and also represents a kind of overview of trends for the given period. The most searched terms on Google - world ranking
Music: Queen, Marshmello and Linkin Park
Google has divided the search for musical artists into the genres of pop, country, electronic music, hip-hop/rap and rock. The rock chart is clearly dominated by the band Queen – the film Bohemian Rhapsody, which tells the story of this cult group, is currently in cinemas. The top ten most searched rock bands are rounded out by Linkin Park, whose singer Chester Bennigton committed suicide last year. The most searched rappEminem is the king, he dominates the country charts Carrie Underwood and pop star Demi Lovato, followed by Ariana Grande.
Movies: Dinosaurs, The Grinch and the Scary Nun
The ranking of the most searched films is also a reflection of this year's trends in cinematography. The first place in the Comedy category is this year's Grinch, while the Drama category is dominated by A Star is Born, closely followed by the musical opus Bohemian Rhapsody. The top three most searched action films are Marvel's Black Panther, the second installment of The Incredibles and the second installment of Deadpool. A Quiet Place became the most searched film in the Horror/Thriller category, but the ranking also includes the horror films Sister, The Terrible Legacy and The First Purge.
Series and TV Shows: The Glory of Netflix
Google has divided the most searched series and shows into three categories: drama, reality and comedy. Fortunately, most of the most searched series can be found on services like Netflix or HBO GO.chat and viewers in the Czech Republic. The most popular series in the Drama category was Altered Carbon, followed by the relatively recent Netflix hit Haunting of Hill House. The reality show category is dominated by Big Brother, American Idol and America's Got Talent, while the most popular comedy series are Roseanne, Insatiable and On My Block.

Sports teams
The rankings of the most searched terms on Google are rounded out by the list of sports teams. In the Professional Baseball League (MBL) category, the Boston Red Sox are leading, New York Yankees and LA Dodgers, in the top league of American football (NFL) they are Philadelphia Eagles, Cleveland Browns and Chicago Bears, the most searched teams of the National Basketball League are Cleveland Cavaliers, LA Lakers and Boston Celtics. As for NHL teams, users searched most often for Washington Capitals, Boston Bruins and Vegas Golden Knights, the most searched teams of MLS football clubs were Atlanta United FC, Los Angeles FC and LA Galaxy.

The World Cup dominated the top spot in both general searches and the News category, while the late musician Avicii came in second place in general searches, followed by rappsinger Mac Miller and Spider-Man creator Stan Lee, who also passed away this year. Meghan Markle was the most searched for in the People category, while Tristan Thompson was the most searched for in the Athlete category.

Recipes: tenderloin does not sizzle
Would you guess that the most sought-after recipe in the Czech Republic will be sirloin with dumpling or perhaps steak? None of these dishes actually even made the top five. Zucchini reigns supreme, followed by tiramisu, muffins and cheesecake, and lamb rounds out the top five.
Pregnancy, Halloween and Ledecka
Keeping all the important dates and deadlines in your head is a superhuman feat. Fortunately, we have Google. In 2018, he told the Czechs, for example, when Halloween is (1st place), when Ester Ledecká starts, when the time changes, but also, for example, when is the most suitable time to take a pregnancy test. Life is a matter of priorities.
Tutorials: from slime to the president to lose belly fat
The Google search engine is also a never-ending well of links to various more or less useful instructions. What interested the Czech Republic the most this year? The term "how to tune" tops the list, followed by a question about making slime. But we also found out, for example, how to vote for the president, how to file a tax return or how to lose weight. In the category of questions beginning with "what?", Czechs were most interested in what to eat, what to eat when they have diarrhea, and what to do in Prague.
Events and personalities: elections, death and trends
The most searched event this year was clearly the presidential election. Apart from them, the top five most searched terms are dominated by sports: Czechs searched for the Olympics, the World Championships in hockey and football, and the Tour de France.ance. The most searched Czech personality was Ester Ledecká, closely followed by Maria Theresa, followed by Jiří Drahoš, Miloš Zeman and Pavel Fischer. But this year, Czechs also searched for those with whom the world said goodbye forever this year: Avicii took first place in this sad ranking, Stan Lee came in second, and Stephen Hawking came in third. The three most searched foreign personalities were Freddie Mercury, Meghan Markle and Sylvester Stall, in that order.one.
