Not a day goes by without hackers gaining access to thousands of internet accounts. They gain access mostly by hacking the databases of large companies and then have a single plan with these accounts. They try to monetize them as soon as possible and as best as possible. On the dark web and other places, user accounts from various services are sold every day, which other hackers can then use for their own benefit, and as it happens in the world of hackers, the benefit of one person leads to the disadvantage of another. But how do you actually know that someone has gained access to your account? What if the company informs about it somewhere on its blog, but does not send you an email with information about changing the password.

That's exactly what Troy Hunt, the company's regional director, thought of. Microsoft and specifically the security department. Troy came up with a website that can tell you if your account has been hacked and you need to change your passwords or you can rest easy. His website draws information directly from the largest companies in the world, which unfortunately from time to time have to share information that their user accounts are no longer just theirs but that hackers have access to them. There have also been a number of hackers and various dark web sites that have decided to cooperate with Troy, and thanks to them, he receives a daily supply of new data from which the database is created.

Once you enter your email or login name into the search on the Have i Been Pwned page, you will immediately find out whether you have become a victim of a hacker or not. If the screen turns red, you have the opportunity to find out from which specific database your login was leaked. Of course, everything works best with an email address. If you enter, for example, your email, it is clear that it is your email. If, on the other hand, you enter, for example, Roman, it is clear that somewhere in the world someone's name Roman used for login, but no one will tell you whether it is you or someone else. However, verifying your email works very reliably. If you find out that your email has been hacked, change your passwords and follow the advice from the article nand what to do over Christmas: change your passwords.
