When Apple koneannounced Apple TV s App Store, it didn't take long for developers to really take on the possibility of creating apps for the set-top box. In addition, it is not even difficult, since tvOS is built directly on iOS and so they only differ in how big the screen the application is displayed on and in what way it is controlled. However, this does not bother the developers, and we are already starting to see claims that giants are going to board the new ship, who can really convince you whether to go to the new Apple TV or not - VLC and Plex. These are two extremely popular tools for streaming videos from a computer to a mobile device, or in this case to a set-top box. The development of both applications is at an early stage, as confirmed by the creators of the VLC player. They announced that they already have the initial code that allows them to play the video on Apple TV, but the possibilities end there. In the future, however, it is clear that the entire environment will be dug up and people will have the opportunity to stream movies in various formats from MacBookdirectly to Apple TV.
The Plex application will be a very big news for users who build a movie library on their computers. Its development is also at a very early stage, but development is already underway. Currently, the creators are thinking about what Plex could look like on Apple TV as best as possible and when they decide on the most ideal way, they start implementing it. Plex took the opportunity immediately because they want to provide a quality experience on any platform, but they believe that the pre Apple TV they should really pay attention as this may be the most popular platform that people will use the player on. Currently it is only available for jailbroken Apple TV and for devices such as Chromecast or Amazon Fire TV. In addition, of course, there are many other applications in preparation that have already been presented on eventand last week. These are, for example, business applications that completely change the meaning of the term "Shop from the comfort of your home". Several games will also be presented. Among the most interesting efforts is Guitar Hero Live by Activision, which was originally announced for Xbox only One and PS4 together with accessories, i.e. with a guitar.

VLC is fine as long as the movie doesn't have a DTS soundtrack.
Take Infuse 3, which costs more, but has paid codecs. In addition, it can obtain metadata about the film (cover, description,...) I also inform about the application for aTV on their website. TOoneit will be possible to play a movie from a NAS without a stick where, for example, codecs were a problem. Because of this, I was planning to buy my first aTV. At the moment, however, I have ordered a Raspberry pi 2 and I will try to play with Kodi, which, in addition to playing movies from the NAS, also works Airplay. Otherwise, for €50 I can have aTV functionality plus much more.
