But the smile on his face won't stay on his face for much longer, as the LA Unified School District has suspended its plan to lend 640 iPads to students. There have already been several suspensions of plans over the last year, and due to the management's announcement that it will decide to withdraw from this plan, it is possible that the schools will eventually end this project and decide to use other facilities, for example Chromebooks from Google.
The latest reason for the project's suspension is that the administrator of the Los Angeles Association of Schools had a surprisingly close relationship with the company's management Apple, as well as to the Pearson company, which for a change offered schools information brochures that should highlight the reasons why schools should use iPads. That the documents were not exactly objective was also proven by a later check of the functions on the devices, where it turned out that the technology had several serious, unmentioned problems, and there were also problems with the implementation of the project. Among other things, it turned out that the students were able to bypass the restrictions and knew how to arrange for the tablets to be used for other activities than just school work. Currently, tablets are used in 52 schools in Los Angeles, but more schools will have laptops. The school showed an interest in 18 laptops, among which could also appear MacBooky.
