Personally, I'm no longer on iPhone able to play games other than Mototrials in which a simple movement iPhone using the accelerometer and accelerating/braking, you overcome various obstacles on the track. I gradually improved my iPhone enriched with almost all available games of this type that iTunes App Store offers for iPhone and iPad. Logically, we couldn't resist and already at the first video from the game Extreme Wheels I decided that its icon had to be on my iPhone. Extreme Wheels will really amaze you in the promo video and photos, beautiful graphics accompanied by explosions and other effects that further enhance the impression of the game, you will say. Unfortunately, the opposite is true and within the first minute of playing you will find out that great graphics do not suit all types of games, Extreme Wheels is a clear example.

Gameplay Vs. Graphic Design

The game is very nicely crafted. audioVisually, unfortunately, it overshadows the gameplay itself, which is pushed to the sidelines. At first glance, the graphics seem very appealing, unfortunately, you will quickly find that you have trouble distinguishing the track you are driving on from the objects in the surroundings. It is very difficult to navigate the game, which makes it impossible to play comfortably. Basically, the most important factor in trial games is whether the control sensitivity and especially the clarity of the track can be set to a sufficiently high quality. As for clarity, the game requires very fast driving, during which you do not have toancand find out what the next obstacle will be, since you don't see it on the screen yet and the moment you do see it nestyou are trying to solve the situation. The control settings consist only of the option to change the control using the multi-touch display to the control using the accelerometer. Any option to change the sensitivity of the control using the accelerometer is completely missing in the game, which is a significant drawback.

Out of tune in the first place

Apart from the aforementioned inability to adjust the sensitivity of the controls in the game, the game is generally poorly tuned. When you fall off the motorcycle, an animation appears during which you see in slow motion what happened to the racer, unfortunately it really doesn't look good. The same problem occurs with barrels of gasoline, which completely illogically accompany each round of the game. As soon as you touch a barrel, an explosion immediately occurs and the iPhone screen is engulfed in flames. The game is played on iPhone 4 without Jailbreak or any intervention is quite slow, especially with animations. Unfortunately, this is a title where we were able to show that graphics are really not the alpha and omega of gaming on mobile platforms.

You can download Xtreme Wheels for €2.99 on iTunes App Store.
