Since the introduction of iPhones 18 Pro It's been about a month, which I think is an ideal opportunity to look at the accessories that many users buy almost automatically. Of course, we're talking about screen protectors, the range of which is so wide today that choosing the right one may not be easy at all. And although it may seem like a relatively ordinary piece of accessory that you simply stick on your phone and don't worry about it anymore, the opposite is true. The differences between individual glasses can be surprisingly significant, not only in terms of durability, but also in terms of comfort of use, display readability, or even privacy.

That's why I decided to wait a bit with my review of PanzerGlass protective glass this time. While similar accessories can usually be evaluated after a few days of use, I think the real durability will be best revealed over time. And since we have several iPhones at our disposal in the editorial office 18 Pro, the ideal opportunity arose to try out three different varianty protective glass from PanzerGlass and then compare how they held up in normal use. Specifically, these are the Platinum, Privacy and Anti-Reflective Armor models, which have a common goal in the form of display protection, but each goes about it a little differently.

And I can tell you right away that in terms of durability, all three of them impress me. variaThey were pleased. Although they were on the phoneoneThe panels have been in place for about a month and have undergone normal editorial use, with none of the glass suffering significant damage. variant Privacy and Anti-Reflective Armor, although there were a few small capillary scratchesancs, which are especially noticeable upon closer inspection, Platinum remained in practically perfect condition. And this result is very interesting in my opinion, because it shows that the differences between individual models may not only lie in their special features.

Technical specifications or three different approaches to screen protection

Although all three glasses come from the same manufacturer and are intended for iPhone 18 Pro, their focus is quite different. While Platinum focuses primarily on maximal durability, Privacy adds protection from prying eyes, and Anti-Reflective Armor seeks to improve display readability in challenging lighting conditions. Each model can therefore appeal to a slightly different group of users, with the common denominator being high-quality display protection and the FastFit In-a-Box installation system.

PanzerGlass Platinum: Durability comes first

I'll start with the Platinum model, which is the most expensive of the three, but according to the manufacturer, it is also supposed to offer exceptionally high mechanical resistance. PanzerGlass boasts a value of 7 on the Mohs hardness scale, as well as test results in which the glass was supposed to achieve more than double to triple the resistance to breakage when the phone was dropped flat on a hard surface compared to other glass from the manufacturer.

Of course, such claims need to be taken with a grain of salt, as actual damage from a drop depends on a number of factors. However, it is clear that durability is the main reason to choose this model. The Platinum also maintains touch sensitivity and, thanks to its case-compatible design, should not interfere with using the phone in a case.

The price is 1,299 CZK, which is definitely not a small amount. However, if you take into account the price of the iPhone itself 18 Pro and possible repairs to its display, investing in a quality protective glass doesn't seem so absurd anymore. And as I mentioned in the introduction, Platinum proved itself during our month of use in terms of resistance to minor scratches.ancI think it's the best.

PanzerGlass Privacy: When you don't want anyone looking over your shoulder

The second model is PanzerGlass Privacy, whose main advantage is not some extraordinary mechanical feature, but a special filter that limits the viewing angles of the display. The principle is quite simple. If you look at the iPhone When you look straight at it, you can see its contents normally. However, as soon as someone tries to look at the display from the left or right, the image darkens significantly, making it much more difficult for them to read what you have open.

A similar solution may be interesting especially for people who often travel by public transport, work in aancemails or simply don't want someone to constantly look at their phone. And given how much sensitive information is on the iPhoneWe have, I find a similar function quite practical.

PanzerGlass has not forgotten about the protection of the display itself. The glass offers a design Ultra-Wide Fit, which covers virtually the entire front of the phone, maintains touch sensitivity and is designed to work with compatible protective cases. The price is CZK 999.

However, it is necessary to take into account that the privacy filter represents a certain compromise that may not suit everyone. The limited viewing angle may be less practical, for example, when you want to show a photo or video to someone next to you. Similarly, the special layer may affect the subjective perception of the brightness of the display. So it is not the universally best solution for everyone, but a glass intended primarily for those who will really use privacy protection.

PanzerGlass Anti-Reflective Armor: Less glare, more comfortable use

The last model is the PanzerGlass Anti-Reflective Armor, which I think is perhaps the most interesting in terms of its focus. This time, the manufacturer focused not only on protecting the display, but also on its readability. The special anti-reflective treatment is supposed to significantly reduce the reflections of ambient light, which should make using the phone more comfortable, for example, outdoors in the sun or in rooms with strong lighting.

This is a feature that I think almost everyone will appreciate. Although the displays of modern iPhones are of exceptional quality, reflections can still make them uncomfortable to use. For example, you just need to look at the phone at a certain angle against a window or on a sunny day and instead of the content of the display you mainly see a reflection of your surroundings. Anti-Reflective Armor tries to solve this problem. minito paint.

In addition to the anti-reflective treatment, it also offers high resistance to impacts and scratches, Ultra-Wide Fit and maintaining touch sensitivity. The price is 1,099 CZK, so it is approximately in the middle between the previous two models.

Personally, I find the combination of screen protection and glare reduction very appealing. While you will use the privacy filter mainly in certain situations, better display readability can be a benefit practically every day. Of course, it depends on how often you use your phone outdoors and how much glare usually bothers you.

Installation you no longer have to worry about

One thing that all three glasses have in common, and which I would definitely not like to mention, is the FastFit In-a-Box installation system. I admit that I can appreciate such gadgets in protective glasses almost as much as their durability. After all, who has ever glued protective glass to iPhone in the classic way, probably knows how unpleasant it can be when a speck of dust gets under it or you stick it on a millimeter crookedly, which can happen really easily.

PanzerGlass has obviously decided to solve this problem, specifically by using a special installation box, into which you simply insert the phone. The glass is prepared in it so that it sits on the display in the correct position, while the application itself is done by pulling on the prepared tab. Of course, you have to clean the display thoroughly beforehand, but then you only have a few simple steps to follow. After opening the box, you just need to push out any small air bubbles towards the edges.

The simplicity of the whole process is, to put it mildly, almost addictive to me, and I say this as someone who has installed countless glass panels in his life. In the editorial office, we installed glass panels on several iPhones. 18 Pro and thanks to the installation boxes, it was a much more convenient matter than I was used to with older methods of gluing. You don't have to guess the correct position of the glass or try to hit its edges exactly according to the display. The box takes care of the centering for you, which significantly reduces the risk of unsuccessful installation.

Of course, this system cannot completely bypass the laws of physics. So if you install the glass in a dusty environment or if you do not clean the display properly beforehand, some dirt may get under it. However, if you follow the procedure, the risk is significantly lower, and I honestly think that a similar installation system should be a given for more expensive protective glass today.

A month of testing showed that all three glasses have something to offer

We are getting tooneto the most important thing, namely the actual experience of use. As I mentioned in the introduction, this time we had the advantage of being able to test the individual glassesonechat on several editorial iPhonech 18 Pro approximately a month, and thanks to this, we had to evaluate not only their appearance immediately after sticking, but also how their surface copes with normal use.

And I'll start with what interested me the most. All three glasses performed very well in terms of mechanical resistance. After a month of use, we did not notice any significant damage to any of them that would make us think about replacing them. There were no cracks, no deep scratches.ance, no spontaneous peeling and overall nothing that would negatively affect the normal use of the phone, which in my opinion is a very good result, especially when we realize that protective glass is designed to gradually catch minor damage instead of the display itself.

However, there was a difference between the models. While the PanzerGlass Platinum remained practically clean and even upon closer inspection we found nothing worth mentioning, the Privacy and Anti-Reflective Armor models showed a few small hairline scratches.ancIt's nothing dramatic and you probably won't even notice them in normal use. But if you turn off the display and look at it at the right angle to the light, some of them are already recognizable.

This is where I think the Platinum model's focus on maximal durability is not just a marketing appeal, but a bare fact. Of course, it would be an exaggeration to claim that it is objectively the most durable glass on the market based on one month of use, because such a conclusion would require significantly more extensive testing. However, within our trio, it turned out the best in terms of maintaining an unscratchable surface. So if you are one of those people who are bothered by even small hairlines on the display, I would definitely recommend considering Platinum.

But that doesn't mean that the other two models are disappointing, quite the opposite. Privacy does exactly what you expect from it. When looking directly at the display, the content remains clearly legible, while when viewed from the sides it darkens significantly. So if you often use your phone, for example on a train, bus or in an environment where there are more people around you, this is a very practical feature. You just need to take into account that you are also depriving yourself of some of the comfort when sharing content with someone sitting next to you. Personally, this is why the glass doesn't quite suit me, but I can understand people for whom it is a blessing.

The biggest attraction of Anti-Reflective Armor is its ability to reduce glare. And I have to say, it does a great job of that. The anti-reflective coating can make using the display more enjoyable in situations where the ambient light reflects off its surface more than you would expect, and frankly, more than an anti-reflective layer applied directly to the display can handle. iPhoneOf course, this doesn't mean that all glare disappears completely, but their reduction is nice, especially when using the phone outdoors or under brighter lighting.

I also think it's very important that all three glasses maintain comfortable touch control. With protective glasses, you don't want to feel like there's an uncomfortable barrier between your finger and the display. So whether you're writing messages, browsing social networks, or using various gestures on the system, iOS, a quality protective glass should be as unnoticeable as possible during normal use. That's exactly what PanzerGlass does with all three models.

Summary

If I were to evaluate the PanzerGlass Platinum, Privacy and Anti-Reflective Armor pro protective glasses after a month of use, iPhone 18 Pro, I would definitely have no problem recommending any of them. They all offer very good screen protection, easy installation, and features that match their purpose. And although a few small hairline scratches appeared on two modelsancWell, in my opinion, it's nothing that should significantly lower their rating.

Personally, I consider PanzerGlass Platinum to be the biggest surprise of the entire test. Although it is the most expensive model of the three, its durability convinced me that the higher price can be justified. After a month of use, it remained practically without signs of wear, which is exactly the result I would expect from a quality protective glass. So if you are primarily looking for maxIf you want maximum protection and don't want to deal with any special features, Platinum seems like the best choice to me.

On the other hand, I would recommend Privacy to people who often use their phone in public and want to have more control over who can see the content of their display. Its special filter works as a very practical protection against prying eyes, albeit at the cost of certain compromises in viewing angles. In my opinion, Anti-Reflective Armor is ideal for those who spend a lot of time outdoors or who simply mind reflections on the display. This is where it can offer something that regular protective glass does not.

The only significant disadvantage of all three models is their price, in my opinion. The sums from 999 to 1,299 CZK are not exactly small for a protective glass, and of course you can find significantly cheaper alternatives on the market. On the other hand, you are buying an accessory for a phone for several tens of thousands of CZK, where possible damage to the display can mean much higher expenses. And if high-quality glass can prevent a similar problem at least once, its purchase can pay off very quickly.
