Current iPad mini sells for $599 in the base 128GB configuration. Apple is planning to introduce a new generation of its smallest tablet later this month. And those interested may get a higher base storage. But they will have to prepare for a significant jump in price. According to respected journalist Mark Gurman of Bloombergu should be new iPad mini significantly more expensive, with its starting price tag expected to be around $799.

If this information is confirmed, it will be a price increase of a full $200 compared to the current basic version. This would put this "small" tablet even above the price level of the 11-inch iPad Air.
The Apple giant will defend the higher price with a load of hardware improvements. Introducing the new iPad mini is expected at a media event at the end of October alongside the new MacBooků Pro with OLED displays. But even before that Apple will hold a press conference on Tuesday, "Welcome home", where they will unveil their new smart home strategy, led by the first home smart display. iPad mini are among my favorite products. I still have the now old one at home iPad mini 5 with the A12 chip. Although the battery life is not what it used to be, it is still enough for me for Netflix, photos, etc.
