Dyson no longer just makes vacuum cleaners. It has hair dryers, air purifiers, headphones, and is now venturing into another segment that I would have hardly expected it to enter just a few years ago. Dyson introduced CameraJet, its first electric toothbrush. And as its name suggests, it's definitely not an ordinary toothbrush. It has an integrated camera, machine learning, and a water jet that is supposed to automatically clean between teeth during regular brushing.

Dyson calls the entire system Gap Optical Targeting. Directly below the head is a small macro camera with a resolution of 100,000 pixels, which analyzes 28 frames per second during brushing. An algorithm trained on 470,000 images of teeth then recognizes the gaps between individual teeth. Once it finds one, the brush sends a precisely targeted dose of mouthwash to the given spot in just 100 milliseconds.
You brush your teeth and floss at the same time
The handle contains a 12,5ml mouthwash reservoir and a special pump that can use the nozzle regardless of the angle at which you hold the brush. The liquid jet itself also has a conical shape, which according to Dyson, covers a larger area at lower pressure than traditional narrow water jets. The result is a more gentle cleaning of gums and enamel.
Dyson claims that CameraJet can remove up to 69% more plaque in hard-to-reach areas than leading premium electric toothbrushes. But it's fair to say that this figure is based on laboratory testing in a specific mode. The entire product took six years to develop. Of course, there's also the MyDyson app. Through it, you can even watch a live camera image directly inside your mouth, check the coverage of individual teeth, or use a cleaning guide. Dyson also claims that it doesn't store camera footage locally or on cloudu.
There's a catch, though. The camera requires you to use low-foaming or non-foaming toothpaste, as regular foam would obscure its view. Dyson is therefore preparing its own toothpaste and mouthwash, but third-party products without SLS will also be available.

And the price? $499, which translates to roughly CZK 10,500 excluding tax. Available in blue and pink varianta. Unfortunately, it is not clear at the moment how quickly the new product will reach our market, which is quite a shame. For me personally, this is a product that may seem completely crazy at first, but after an explanation it actually starts to make sense. A toothbrush that automatically recognizes the interdental space during cleaning and rinses it straight away definitely does not sound like a self-serving technological toy. Only the price is typically Dyson.
The brush is already being sold normally here, it is in stock on the official website
