If you are using iPhone a few years, you've probably encountered the same problem too. Free 5 GB on iCloudu will start to run out very quickly and iPhone will start to warn you that it has nowhere to back up photos, videos, or the entire device. At that point, the question arises, which plan andCloudu+ actually choose. Apple today it offers five paid services in the Czech Republic variant from 50 GB to 12 TB and the difference between them is not only in price. It mainly depends on how many devices you use, how much photography you do and whether you want to share the storage with your family.

Currently it costs 50GB iCloud+ 25 CZK per month, 200 GB costs 79 CZK, 2 TB costs 249 CZK, 6 TB costs 749 CZK and the largest 12TB tariff costs 1,490 CZK per month. Without paying, you still have 5 GB free. If you just want a simple answer, for a single undemanding user I would start with 50 GB, while for a family I would look at miniat least 200 GB each. However, for a family that takes a lot of photos and videos on iPhones, I think 2 TB is a much more sensible long-term choice.

Price Price per month Pro Who makes sense?
5 GB Free More like just basic synchronization, not enough for regular backups
50 GB 25 CZK One user, smaller photo library
200 GB 79 CZK A more demanding individual or a smaller family
2 TB 249 CZK Family, lots of photos and videos, more Apple device
6 TB 749 CZK Very extensive library of photos and videos
12 TB 1 490 Kč Proprofessional and really extremely large data libraries

Free 5 GB today I think nestalmost nobody

Apple still gives 5 GB of free space to each account. So technically it is also possibleCloud use without paying, but if you really want to back up iPhone and use Photos on iCloudu, you'll hit the limit very quickly. A few minutes of high-definition video, photos, messages, documents, and phone backups can fill up several gigabytes without much effort. And if you have more Apple devices connected to the same account, 5 GB is even more problematic.

This does not mean that it must alsoCloud can be used by everyone. You can back up your photos elsewhere and your data can be handled by other services. But if you want to use Apple ecosystem as designed, i.e. automatic synchronization of photos, files and backups between iPhonem, iPad and Mac, most people will sooner or later have to avoid paid storage.

50 GB for 25 CZK is a cheap solution, but it has its limits

The lowest paid plan is interesting mainly for its price. Twenty-five crowns a month is not an amount that most iPhone owners would think twice about, and compared to the free 5 GB, you get ten times the space. If you have one iPhoneIf you don't shoot hundreds of videos a month and you primarily need a reliable phone backup, 50 GB may be enough for you for quite a long time.

ProThe problem occurs when you start Photos on iCloudu really use it to the fullest. Current iPhones produce large photos and especially videos and 50 GB at once is not as much as it seems at first glance. If you already have, for example, 35 or 40 GB of photos and videos today, I don't think it's worth switching to 50 GB just because it's the cheapest variantu. In a moment you will be solving the same problem again.

200 GB is the best universal plan in my opinion

For 79 CZK per month you get 200 GB and this is where it starts.Cloud significantly more comfortable. Pro For one person, this is a relatively large reserve, and at the same time, it is a tariff that can be shared within Family Sharing. Apple also allowsCloud+ share with up to five other family members, so everyone doesn't have to have their own subscription. An important thing that people sometimes fear: by sharing, youCloudYou won't automatically start sharing your photos and documents with your family. Each member uses their own Apple The account and its personal data remain separate. The family shares storage capacity, not its contents. Pro For a couple with two iPhones, 200GB might be more than enough. For a family with two parents and a few kids, though, I'd look at how much data you're actually creating. Two hundred gigabytes sounds like a lot until four people start storing all their photos and 4K videos in one place for years.

Pro I would personally aim for 2 TB for a family. The 2TB plan costs CZK 249 per month, which is less than three thousand crowns per year. It's not a lot, but if several people use it and you have a complete family archive of photos, videos, backups and documents in it, the price starts to make more sense. Above all, you don't have to constantly monitor who in the family has just filled the shared space. This is where I wouldn't make a mistake when choosing and buy a plan based on how much space you need today. Look at the rate at which your data is growing. If your family currently has 170 GB occupied and adds another 60 or 80 GB of photos and videos every year, switching to 200 GB will only postpone the problem. On the contrary, 2 TB will create a reserve for you for several years. Apple Additionally, the 2TB plan does not limit Secure Video HomeKitu only for a few cameras. This may be interesting for households using security cameras compatible with HomeKitem. Like other tariffs,Cloud+ you also get Private Transfer via iCloud, Hide my email and the option to use your own email domain.

6 and 12 TB are already unnecessary for most people

Apple also offers 6 TB for 749 CZK and 12 TB for 1,490 CZK per month. I wouldn't recommend these plans to the average iPhone user at all. They're more for people who have really huge photo and video libraries, or evenCloud used very intensively by the whole family. Twelve terabytes is an amount of space that a typical household may not have access to for many years. On the other hand, it is good that these varianty exist. If someone takes professional photos and videos, uses multiple devices, and wants to have years of content available within one ecosystem, they don't need to look for another solution because of exceeding 2 TB. Pro For the vast majority of people, however, I would narrow the choice to 50 GB, 200 GB, and 2 TB.

What happens if you have, say, 256GB? iPhone and only 50GB tooCloud? Here we need to distinguish between two completely different things. iPhone storage and iCloudu do not add up. If you have iPhone with a capacity of 256 GB and you pay for 200 GB iCloud, you won't get a phone with 456 GB of space. iCloud je cloudThe storage used for syncing and backing up data, while the iPhone capacity is the physical storage directly on the device. Photos on iCloudbut they can save space on your phone. With storage optimization turned on, your original high-resolution photos and videos remain on your iCloudua iPhone can store smaller versions locally. When you need the original, your device will download it. This is one of the most practical features of the entire service, especially for owners of iPhones with smaller capacity.

So how would ICloud did I choose?

If you have one iPhone and you mainly want backup, I would start with 50 GB for 25 CZK. If you use more Apple device, you take a lot of photos or you don't want to check the remaining space every few months, 200 GB for 79 CZK seems to me to be the best all-rounder varianta. The difference of 54 CZK per month compared to the cheapest tariff is not big and you get four times the capacity.

For a family, I would choose between 200 GB and 2 TB. If there are two people in the family and you don't have huge video libraries, I would start with 200 GB. For a family of four who uses multiple iPhones and wants to haveCloudfor long-term photography and video, I would immediately take 2 TB for 249 CZK per month. Not because you need two terabytes immediately, but becauseCloud is the type of service where data accumulates over the years and few people want to deal with deleting family memories every six months.

And that, in my opinion, is the simplest rule for choosing. Don't buy the smallest plan that you can fit into today. Buy the one that has a reasonable margin. If you are already using 45 GB, a 50GB plan is formally enough for you, but in practice you have only bought a few weeks or months of time. U cloudA little extra free space is much nicer than a constant reminder that there is too much storage space.Cloud full again.
