Apple A few days ago, he surprisingly introduced a new generation of his Polishing Cloth, and this time there was no fuss about the price, but quite the opposite. While the original cloth from 2021 cost $19 in the US, the new version is available for just $9. Apple He didn't explain what had changed, except for the price. But now the first units have reached customers, and we haveoneIt is possible to compare both cloths side by side. And there really is a difference.

Apple did not reduce its dimensions
Japanese blog Karagana Park published photos of the new version and the author directly compared it to the original model. According to him, it is noticeable at first touch that the new Polishing Cloth is thinner and has a smoother surface. One of the first questions after the announcement of the new version was whether Apple he didn't simply reduce the dimensions so he could sell the cloth cheaper. But according to initial comparisons, nothing of the sort nesthello.
The new Polishing Cloth is practically the same size as the original model. The difference is mainly in the material and its processing. The new product feels significantly softer and behaves differently when folded than the original, significantly stiffer version. The author Karagana Park also states that his piece was made in July 2026, a month after the introduction of the new version. At first glance, the packaging looks practically the same as the previous generation.
It is thinner and smoother
The material is the biggest change. The original cleaning cloth was relatively firm and held its shape when placed over the edge of the hand. The new model, on the other hand, is significantly softer and adapts more easily to the surface. According to the first owners, the new cloth is also noticeably thinner when compared between the fingers. It should feel closer to the cloth that Apple for example, it is packaged with products with nano-textured glass or Apple Vision Pro. The color is also interesting. According to a direct comparison, the new version has a darker shade than the original Polishing Cloth.
As for the polishing capabilities, they obviously need to be tested more thoroughly, but according to the first reviews on social media, the old and new cloths are roughly the same, despite the different softness and strength.

Apple he cut it in half
In the US it costs $9 instead of the original $19. In Europe, for example, the price has dropped from 25 to 10 euros. This is a really significant discount, which is applicable to accessories Apple doesn't see it very often. Apple It still claims that it is a soft, non-abrasive material designed to safely clean all of its displays, including nano-textured glass. The original cloth, by the way, became one of the biggest internet jokes after its launch in 2021, precisely because of its $19 price tag. Apple but at that time he sold out the first stocks surprisingly quickly and the cloth became a bit of a cult product.
For me, this year's change is actually quite pleasant. Apple took a product that the internet was making fun of because of its price, and did the exact opposite of what we would expect from it – it cut the price by more than half and, according to initial experiences, made it thinner and more pleasant to the touch. So yes, the new Apple A cloth is still just a cloth. But at least this time it's not a $19 cloth.
a piece of trousers cut off from 500 times washed thick thermals after my grandmother gave me a similar service....
Manufacturers are overdoing it in making phones super-durable, using some super-expensive super-durable material... and then a special cloth so they don't get damaged during the polishing process...
but yeah, for someone it might make sense – a feeling of dryness and safety…
I'm just waiting for someone at the meeting (typically a buran) to put aside the holy trinity (cell phone, wallet, car keys) and a white cloth :) :) :) .. like a style book

You unfortunate person, you don't understand what we're talking about here at all. iPhone it does not have textured glass, i.e. this “cloth is not for iPhone not intended…
However, I advise you:
With your thick sweatpants washed 500 times, go to the pages about our government. There are people like you there, you will fit in there and you will be a star there...
So marketing, well... I didn't buy this cloth, but I wear glasses again and I test a cloth here and there - they're not bad, but it's still best to throw the glasses under running water, soap them with spring water or something like that, rinse, blow off the drops and they're clean.
These cloths don't work for things like when a freshly opened or shot cola is waiting (microdroplets of CO2 are released, even walking under a blooming tree is enough, a person without glasses just doesn't recognize these sweet microdroplets 😀)
But to get back to the topic – I also wipe it with a wet cloth and then with the dry end of the same cloth and it's like new. But that's not the case with those glasses (scratching the anti-reflective coating).
But as I say, marketing at number one 😀👍
