Rockstar after several days of silence tooneis responding to the massive GTA 6 leaks that have flooded the internet in the past week. And it must be said that the studio's statement makes it quite clear that the gameplay footage leak is definitely not something they can just ignore. Rockstar even used the word "heartbreaking", meaning that the whole situation was heartbreaking for the team.

Studio published its statement a few dozen minutes ago, just a day before the planned official presentation of GTA 6 as part of the Extended Look. In it, Rockstar admits that it was definitely not its intention for fans to see the game for the first time through leaked videos.

"It would be an understatement to say that the GTA VI gameplay videos being leaked in this way were heartbreaking for our team.",” Rockstar says in a statement. It also apologizes for how long GTA 6 development has been taking and how long fans have been waiting for more official information and gameplay. And here comes perhaps the most interesting part of the whole statement. Rockstar suggests that GTA 6 is indeed very close to completion. Studio literally states that with the completion of the game "nearly there", almost at the destination. This is quite reassuring information after all the delays and months of waiting.

Rockstar also confirms that tomorrow's Extended Look is unchanged. Fans will indeed get their long-awaited look at GTA 6 on August 27th. The special will officially be available on Netflix at 21:00 PM CET, and will then also appear on the official Rockstar Games YouTube channel and the GTA VI website.

Studio At the same time, it admits that the leaked materials may spoil part of the planned experience for some players. However, it asks fans to wait a little longer and play the game for the first time in full when it is released. This is scheduled for November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Interestingly, Rockstar's statement itself practically does not address who is behind the leak. In recent days, dozens of videos have appeared that allegedly come from GTA 6, and Take-Two has already taken legal action due to their distribution. Among the platforms from which it is requesting information leading to the identification of the source of the leak are, for example Microsoft and Discord.

But for me, the most important part of Rockstar's statement is the last one. Studio thanks the fans who sent him messages of support after the leak, and reminds us that GTA 6 is being created just for them. After years of waiting, Rockstar is releasing something for the first time that doesn't sound like a classic PR statement, but rather like a sincere reaction from people who have had their long-awaited moment spoiled. And tomorrow atoneWe'll definitely see what Rockstar has in store for us. After everything that's been leaked online in recent days, the official Extended Look will be perhaps even more interesting than if there had been no leaks at all.
