Sandisk today introduced the portfolio SANDISK® NAS SSDs are designed specifically for modern network attached storage (NAS) environments. As professional users and small businesses generate more data and rely more on 24/7 collaborative workflows, users are looking for reliable, high-speed solutions for private storage. cloudNAS users. The new SANDISK® NAS 600 SATA and SANDISK® NAS 800 NVMe™ SSDs are designed to deliver the reliable and consistent performance, high endurance and scalability required for today's demanding NAS workloads.
New portfolio Designed to accelerate hybrid and all-flash NAS systems, SanDisk's NAS SSD range includes two highly durable, high-performance SSDs designed for multi-user or demanding workloads for creative professionals.
The SANDISK NAS 600 SATA SSD is optimized for creative professionals and small businesses who are upgrading their NAS systems by replacing hard disk drives (HDDs) with SSDs or increasing their performance by adding a cache or SSD layer. The new SSD offers high endurance with up to 2,500 TBW 1 (4 TB model) and up to 2,25 million hours MTTF 1 , supporting demanding multi-user workloads. With a 2,5”/7 mm SATA form factor, this drive fits into existing 3,5” NAS drive bays 2 that support 2,5″ SSDs and offers sequential read speeds of up to 560 MB/s 3 without mechanical noise, making it an affordable upgrade from hard disk drives (HDDs). It is designed to operate reliably in RAID arrays and multiple disk configurations. It provides consistently high performance in team environments and when working with large data volumes. In addition, higher productivity helps effectively reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO). Available in long-life models from 500GB to 4TB 4.
Designed for all-flash and hybrid NAS systems with demanding or mission-critical workloads, the SANDISK NAS 800 NVMe SSD with PCIe® 5.0 interface is designed with a high endurance of up to 14 PBW¹ (7,68 TB) and can be used for caching, storage tiering or as primary storage. It delivers random read/write speeds of up to 2,3 million/2 million IOPS³ (3,84 TB) and sequential read/write speeds of up to 14,900/13,200 MB/s³ (1,92 TB) for multi-user collaborative workloads, databases, virtualization, content creation or agent-based AI. It performs reliably in demanding NAS environments and is tested with many leading NAS systems for compatibility with the M.2 2280 format. Choose capacities from 960GB to 7,68TB⁴ with SANDISK® TLC 3D NAND technology.
Growing emphasis on the integration of private cloudThe growing need to manage and control both local and artificial intelligence data is driving demand for reliable storage solutions that help protect valuable content and business-critical data.
“The way users use NAS has changed dramatically,” said Anil Moolchandani, vice president of product management at Sandisk. “Today’s prosumers, creative professionals, and small businesses manage larger data sets, collaborate across teams, and rely on systems that must be up and running 24/7.” Portfolio We created SANDISK® NAS to meet these changing demands, offering users SSDs that make it easy to upgrade existing NAS environments or take full advantage of the performance of all-flash solutions.”
Both the SANDISK® NAS 600 SATA SSD and the SANDISK® NAS 800 NVMe™ SSD will be available for purchase starting in September at Sandisk.com and select retailers and online retailers worldwide. Learn more here.
Well, SSDs are not allowed in my NAS on principle. The idea of replacing 4x 24 TB HDDs in raid 6 is crazy.
