If you are a fan of LEGO and Batman, the following lines will probably excite you. The first photos of the upcoming LEGO Batmobile from the movie Batman Returns have been released online, giving us our first real look at the new product, which has only been talked about in leaks in recent months. And it must be said that the new Batmobile looks really good in the first photos. LEGO has prepared it as a large collector's model with the number 76355, which, according to current information, is supposed to offer 2269 pieces and a price tag of $229,99. It is scheduled to go on sale on September 1, 2026.
The number of pieces and the price have changed relatively recently compared to the original leaks. Back in May, there was talk of 2272 pieces and a price of $219,99, but the information was later revised to the current 2269 pieces and $230.
LEGO really stuck to the movie
The first photos clearly show that LEGO didn't just try to create another generic Batmobile this time. The model is based directly on the car that appeared in the 1992 film Batman Returns, and retains its very specific look. The dominant features are the huge turbine opening at the front, the long, low body, and the distinctive side parts.
The model is supposed to be approximately 45 centimeters long, so it will definitely not be a small item for display. LEGO has also prepared a very interesting feature, where, just like in the film, the Batmobile should be able to split and reveal a smaller Batmissile inside. The leaked photos even show the mechanism directly, so it is not just a model intended for display, but also a rather nice reminder of one of the most interesting features of the film car.

The kit should also include Batman in miniin figure form. According to the first photos, LEGO has used a newly shaped cape and a more pronounced mask, thanks to which the figure should resemble Batman played by Michael Keaton much more faithfully. Interestingly, LEGO itself has already hinted at the existence of this set. Even before the leak, it published a teaser with a mysterious model covered in a black tarpaulin and text referring directly to Batman Returns. Although LEGO did not openly show the model in the teaser, given the shape of the covered car and the film quote used, it was relatively clear what it was about.
There's not much left to be a mystery about now, anyway. If the leak is correct, the 76355 Batman Returns Batmobile will feature 2269 pieces, one miniBatman figure, about 45 centimeters long and priced at $229,99. The official premiere is scheduled for September 1. And personally, I'm very curious about the comparison with the legendary 1989 Batmobile 76139. It had 3306 pieces, was about 60 centimeters long and cost $249,99 when it was launched. The new Batman Returns is therefore significantly smaller for similar money. On the other hand, we get the iconic shape of the car from the sequel and, above all, the mechanism with the hidden Batmissile.

Anyway, from the first photos, the 76355 Batman Returns Batmobile looks like another really cool LEGO Batman model. And considering that there are only about two weeks left until the release, I wouldn't be surprised if LEGO officially introduced the new model in the coming days.
