Meta has released a new version of the operating system for Ray-Ban Meta glasses. This is version 27, and it can definitely be considered one of the most important releases Meta has ever released. While at the very beginning, the glasses were able to record maxminimum 60 seconds of recording at a time, later Meta improved this value to 3 minutes with an update. Now, with update 27, another change comes and Ray-Ban Meta now allows you to record up to 5 minutes of video in full HD resolution at 30 FPS. The update is available for Ray-Ban Meta 2, Oakley Meta GSTN, Oakley Meta Vanguard and Meta Glasses Collection.
But the update doesn't end there. Another interesting new feature is the connection of smart glasses with popular golf apps 18Birdies and Arccos. Thanks to this, Meta AI can provide useful information directly during the game, without the golfer having to take out their phone or interrupt their pace. For example, the glasses can tell the distance to the green, recommend a suitable club or record the score. After connecting to a supported golf app, the function can be started with the voice command "Hey Meta, start a round of golf". In this way, the glasses can essentially turn into a personal golf assistant that the player has at his disposal at all times.
Meta is further expanding its communication options. You can now start a video call via voice command. WhatsApp, Messenger or Instagram Direct, while the phone can remain in the pocket. For example, the user simply says "Hey Meta, video call Jonah on WhatsApp" and the glasses will take care of the rest. Language support has also been expanded. Turkish has been newly added, which is supported not only for device control, but also for calls and messages, media capture, music control, and communication with Meta AI.
Next-generation Meta AI arrives with Muse Spark
Most of the new features have already arrived with version 26. One of the most important is Muse Spark, a new generation of Meta AI designed for smart glasses. Meta promises smarter responses, better visual perception of the world around us, and an overall more capable assistant for everyday tasks. However, Muse Spark has quite significant limitations for now. The feature is only available to users in the United States and Canada.

iPhone owners get Wi-Fi Aware
As part of the Early Access program, iPhone users can try out the Wi-Fi Aware feature. Its goal is to simplify media import and updates. Once enabled, Meta AI should no longer prompt you repeatedly to connect to a Wi-Fi network when importing photos and videos. The feature can be enabled in the device settings in the Early Access section, where you need to find the Wi-Fi Aware item.
The glasses now have full support for Japanese and Korean. Users can control and communicate with the device naturally in their own language, which is a significant step for the further global expansion of smart glasses. Live translation is expanding even more significantly. Meta is adding support for 14 more languages, making the glasses an interesting assistant when traveling and communicating with people abroad.
