Prothat's it Apple tries to improve the level of its map data within Apple Maps constantly improving, updates images for Look Around (i.e. similar to Google Street View) practically every year, or at least once every two years. That's why it probably won't surprise anyone that after cars and people with special backpacks with cameras and sensors mapped the Czech Republic and Slovakia in the summer of 2024, it launched a major mapping campaign again this year, which we informed you about in the spring. At that time, special cars mapped practically all Czech and Slovak regions from the end of March to the end of April. However, the most interesting thing is happening now. Pedestrians with a special backpack are currently walking through the Bratislava Region (SR) and the Capital City of Prague (CR) in places that cars are unable to map, thanks to which Look Around will move to the next level again.

Pedestrian mapping in both the Czech Republic and Slovakia is taking place from June 22 to July 31, and it is not known how many backpackers are walking around Prague, Bratislava and their surroundings. It is rather funny, however, that one was encountered in Bratislava by influencer explo, whose short video capturing the entire equipment of this walker can be viewed in the short video below.

If you are wondering where exactly Apple collects data for Apple Maps, you can easily find out this information on his official website here. Of course, you should expect that you will only find a relatively wide time window here and not exact dates for the given locations. Firstly, this Apple it does not put its drivers under unnecessary pressure and it also prevents jokes that some people would certainly like to include in the map data. That is why it can be said that seeing a car collecting data for Apple Maps, or rather a walker with a special backpack, is solid luck.
