Sony has revealed the July game lineup for PlayStation Plus subscribers. Starting July 7, players will be able to download a trio of titles, including a big action game, a cooperative fantasy adventure, and a fun retro RPG. A new month means a new batch of games for PlayStation Plus subscribers. This time, Sony has focused on very different genres, so fans of big blockbusters, players craving cooperative adventures, and those with a weakness for honest 2D action with RPG elements will all find something for themselves. The July lineup will be available from Tuesday, July 7, to Monday, August 3. As always, individual games may vary slightly by region, so it's a good idea to check the final availability directly in the PlayStation Store Store on the day of release.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III - Cross-Gen Bundle

The biggest attraction of the July offer is undoubtedly Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, which will be available in the Cross-Gen Bundle version for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. It is a direct sequel to Modern Warfare II, in which Captain Price and the Task Force 141 unit return again. This time the main antagonist is Vladimir Makarov, ultraa nationalistic war criminal who is trying to expand his influence around the world. The campaign relies on familiar characters, cinematic action and a tense atmosphere that the Modern Warfare series has long been at the forefront. Multiplayer also plays a big role. Modern Warfare III brings modernized versions of sixteen maps from the original Modern Warfare 2 from 2009. Fans of the series can return to familiar places, but in a modified form, with better graphics, new modes and contemporary gameplay elements. There is also the Modern Warfare Zombies mode. For the first time in this series, this puts players in a large open PvE environment where they can cooperate with other teams. The result is the largest zombie map in the history of the mode, which is intended to offer a different type of experience than classic competitive multiplayer.

For the King II

The second game on the list is For the King II, a fantasy RPG adventure for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. The title follows on from the successful first installment and once again combines elements of roguelite games, turn-based combat, and tabletop RPGs. The story takes place in the world of Fahrul, where Queen Rosomon has turned against her own people. The inhabitants have ended up in servitude, forced to work in the mines, and the queen has meanwhile formed an alliance with dark forces. The player's task is to confront her regime and try to end her rule. For the King II can be played alone, but its greatest strength is in four-player co-op. Every quest is risky, every decision can hurt, and the combination of chance, strategy, and gradual character improvement makes this game an interesting choice for those who want something slower and more tactical.

Cross code

The third title is CrossCode, a retro-styled 2D action RPG for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. It may seem inconspicuous at first glance, but this game could be the biggest surprise of the entire offer for many players. CrossCode combines 16-bit stylization, a fast-paced combat system, clever puzzles and a sci-fi story. The game takes inspiration from older action-adventure games and RPGs, but adds modern controls, smooth physics and a fast pace. In practice, this means that players will solve puzzles in a dungeononech, collect equipment, unlock abilities and look for enemy weaknesses during fights. CrossCode is exactly the type of game that may not seem like a big hit in the pictures, but after a few minutes of playing it can surprise you with its sophistication.

PlayStation Plus has a strong lineup in July

The PlayStation Plus lineup for July is very balanced this time around. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III will bring a big name and action blockbuster to the masses, For the King II will offer a cooperative fantasy adventure, and CrossCode will delight players who like honest gameplay, retro style, and RPG elements. All three games will be available from July 7th, and PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to add them to their library until August 3rd.
