Apple v iOS 26.6 is apparently preparing a small thing that will never bother most users, but it could save the biggest spam call fighters a lot of confusion. In the first beta of the new update, new texts appeared warning about reaching maxminimum number of blocked contacts.

Specifically, the system is supposed to display a message to the user that they have reached the limit of blocked contacts and if they want to block another caller, they must first remove an older contact in Settings. The notification itself is called “Blocked Contacts Limit Reached”. However, it is not yet clear whether Apple v iOS Does 26.6 actually change the limit itself, or does it just better explain a situation that some users have encountered before?

Apple officially, there is no specific limit for blocked numbers. According to discussions on social networks and in communities AppHowever, some people have hit a ceiling of around 20,000 blocked contacts, others mention problems after 8,000 numbers, and there are exceptional cases with lower values. Pro Of course, these are completely extreme numbers for a regular user. However, if someone blocks each spam call individually over a long period of time, they could theoretically reach a similar limit over time.

The solution is quite simple, although not entirely convenient. You can remove older blocked contacts in Settings, specifically in the Applications, Phone, and Blocked Contacts sections. Apple does not yet offer any bulk unblocking tool, so you will need to delete individual items manually. Either by swiping left or using the Edit button and then unblocking selected numbers.

The good news is that iOS 26 has already brought more practical ways to deal with spam calls without any hassle.onemanual blocking. The reason for the call feature can first send unknown callers to voicemail, where they must say why they are calling. The user can then decide whether to answer the call. There is also a classic silence for unknown callers, where calls from numbers outside your contacts are automatically sent to voicemail without notification.

iOS 26.6 is currently only available in the first developer beta, and the public version will probably arrive in a few weeks. It also doesn't look like the update will bring any major new features. It's more likely to be another minor update that will fine-tune the system, fix bugs, and add a few practical details. And the notification about the limit of blocked contacts fits perfectly into such details.
