When Apple recently introduced its affordable MacBook Neo, has literally amazed many with this machine. This is a computer that, despite its low price, is very reasonably powerful, has a good design, offers great battery life and, most importantly, the macOS operating system, which was previously unthinkable in this price category of laptops. However, not everything is perfect. Some users point out that if it is to go from the side Appin an effort to compete with cheap Windows laptops or Chromebooks, they must at least "throw in" a touch screen in the second generation. Although it MacBookHe recently predicted the Neo 2, but now it looks like he won't be able to see it. This was confirmed a few hours ago by a very well-informed reporter. Bloombergat Mark Gurman.

According to Gurman's information, it seems that Apple although the idea of touch MacBookstill hasn't completely abandoned it, but the Neo model with it minicertainly not in the coming years, and what's more, Apple has not yet decided whether other Macs than the upcoming top model will get a touch screen MacBook ProAccording to current information, this should be the first MacBookem with a touchscreen, sometime around the turn of 2026 and 2027. For the cheaper MacBookHowever, a similar innovation is apparently not planned for Neo yet. The reason is quite simple, it is unsurprisingly very low price. Basic MacBook The Neo starts at $499 in the education store, and according to behind-the-scenes information, adding a touch panel would slightly increase production costs.

However, as I wrote above, speculation about a touch version of the Neo has been around for a while. For example, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claimed in September last year that the second generation of this laptop could have touch support. However, over the weekend he slightly corrected his words, saying that this possibility is rather remote. And Gurman has now added a slightly more forceful comment. According to him, he would be “very surprised” if a touch display was included in the MacBooku Neo got over the next three years.

However, that doesn't mean we won't see a second generation of this laptop. On the contrary, according to Kuo, it should. Apple MacBook Neo 2 will be introduced next year, with the biggest change being the new chip, specifically the A19 Pro, which should replace the current A18 Pro. Along with it, there should also be an increase in RAM from today's 8 GB to 12 GB. But quite honestly, the possibility of touch control would definitely not be a harm for this model (as well as the others). I myself had the opportunity to use a laptop with touch support years ago and I must say that for many tasks it was a very pleasant thing.
