I can't believe it, but yesterday it was not only a year since our wedding, but also 10 months since I received my brand new iPhone 16 Pro and I had the opportunity to start using it from the first day of sales. So I think it's not out of place to re-evaluate how this phone affects a person after a few months and what they enjoy about it and what annoys them. ProWell, let's face it, many problems only surface after extensive testing or in situations that simply cannot be simulated in the first review. So let's get to it.
Cameras will entertain you, but only up to a point
Right from the start, I must say that I iPhone 16 Pro I still enjoy it quite a bit, but on the other hand, I certainly can't say that I have a fundamentally different feeling about it than I did about iPhone 15 Pro, which I had before him, or rather from iPhone 14 Pro two years ago. What I probably enjoy most about the phone is the five-fold optical zoom, which (as I expected and sincerely wished) will open up completely new possibilities for photography. That's what I started to like in recent years, precisely because of how easy everything is with iPhonein my pocket, it's fun enough and even though I'm just a complete amateur and I'm just "clicking" for fun, it's nice to have a device in my hand that's really comprehensive. And that iPhone 16 Pro under good conditions it certainly is.
The 5x optical zoom can give you a whole new perspective on many places or objects you thought you knew intimately. However, once you zoom in on a scene and capture it in a de facto new dimension, how many times nestI'm amazed by what I've overlooked so far. I really enjoy zooming in on various town hall towers, churches, and the like, which you've been walking around all your life, but only now, after zooming in, do you realize how beautiful they can be in detail.
A few better photos with a telephoto lens
However, there is one big catch, which is not only stuck in the telephoto lens, but also in ultrawide-angle camera with a resolution of 48MPx. In both cases, these are excellently improved cameras between generations, but you will only enjoy their quality until the light around you gets worse. Then the problem beginsoneA difficult (and sometimes unwinnable) battle with noise, darkness of images and overall poor quality, which quickly makes you realize that you still have "just" a mobile phone in your hand and not a classic SLR camera. And the more you take photos, the more you encounter and annoy these light limits, because they can sometimes deprive you of really nice images.
The new button is nice if you don't think about it too much
The new Camera Control button was quite popular with me, which was supposed to Appto revolutionize how we iPhoneWe take pictures. But don't be fooled. Of course, I remember well what I said in previous texts about iPhone 16 Pro wrote about this button and I still stand by my words. I don't consider this element to be fundamentally revolutionary, or even usable, because taking pictures using it alone is still both tedious and quite inconvenient for me because the button is placed too high on the phone's body. Nevertheless, it's great. You just need to find your way to it as a quick camera launcher and you'll suddenly find that it's actually nice to have it on your phone.
Sure, I know that I can launch the camera by swiping to the side, or by using the software button on the Lock Screen, but the physical camera shutter on the side of the phone allows you to launch the camera de facto as soon as you pull the phone out of your pocket or just hold it in front of your face to start taking a photo. This saves you some time, you can therefore create the shot faster, and this can ultimately decide whether the given photo will be taken or not.
The battery is holding up, USB-C is becoming more and more popular
Many of you are certainly interested in how the phone is doing in terms of battery life after almost a year. I am not afraid to say that it is practically the same as when I first took it out of the box. Despite my 265 charging cycles, which were mostly done via wireless chargers and the small remainder via a USB-C fast charger, the battery condition still shows a great 99%, so for me there is absolutely nothing to worry about in this regard. The phone can handle one active day without any problems, and with more economical use, you can even get 3 days.
If there's one thing I really like about the phone, it's the 25W fast charging via the 2nd generation MagSafe. It's really fast, but at the same time very convenient, and if you put a long enough MagSafe cable behind your sofa, like we have, you can use the phone while charging without having to deal with the cable sticking out of the bottom jack. Moreover, given the speed of the charging itself, you'll only reach for a classic wired charger for fast charging. minilittle, which is great.

The versatility of this port is simply unique and makes people increasingly aware of how versatile the device is in their pocket thanks to the port. Whether we're talking about a charger or, for example, mirroring iPhone to a computer monitor or connecting it to an external drive for data transfer or reading, USB-C opens the door to a new dimension.
It's only been a few days since I was discussing with a friend how to easily get children's fairy tales onto his wife's iPad for a vacation. At first I thought it was a completely trivial matter and I was already preparing a USB-C adapter for him to connect his USB-A external drive to the iPad, because after all, USB-C is already the same standard for iPads as it is for iPhones. And lo and behold, he sent me a photo Lightning port and I knew it was bad because the reduction Lightning/USB-A is not something you carry around in your pockets. Sure, it's a small thing in its own way, but know that these small things add up over time and then either please you or they catch up with you.
Greatness is not felt – and in nothing.
What leaves me completely speechless, on the other hand, is the size of the phone. On paper, it has jumped from 6,1" to 6,3" between generations, but in practice you will not notice anything at all. After unboxing, I wrote that the phone feels practically the same in the hand as the previous generation, and I stand by that more and more. 0,2" is simply a difference that you cannot see, you cannot feel, and therefore there is absolutely no point in expecting it to improve your productivity. And you don't even have to worry about it iPhone 16 Pro suddenly held worse than iPhone 15 Pro, because it really isn't a threat. Its weight has increased by about 12 grams, but you will notice that maxAt least in the first few days – and that's only possible if you use it without a cover. ProWell, let's face it, the vast majority of us will just "slide" our phone into a case anyway, which will add a few extra grams, depending on the type.
iPhone 16 Pro It's still great after 10 months, but...
So what can we say in conclusion? That iPhone 16 Pro it's really fun even after 10 months, but of course it has its flaws that can make you a little upset. However, it should be taken into account that this is only a relatively small evolutionary step compared to iPhone 15 Pro and I dare say that even compared to iPhone 14 Pro you won't be fundamentally ahead by buying this model. It's simply "just" another very pleasant iPhone, which is (logically) currently the best you can get from Apple buy, but which has been "cooked" according to a recipe with a perfectly dosed ratio of innovations, which will make it an interesting choice to buy, but which at the same time still poneThere is sufficient room for innovation in future models. And I'm really looking forward to what Apple will show at iPhone 17 Pro and whether I will write a similar text next year, significantly more positive, or again in this spirit.
I agree. I was switching from 14 to Pro so there are a few more differences, but most of them you have to look for and focus on before you see them. I use the camera button exactly the same - just to open the app.
I switched to the 16pro from the 13pro in May this year.. The endurance and heating are still not that great.. The photos are great, but really only with good lighting, but I also took pictures of the night sky and they were great.. And I get used to the new buttons very quickly, I use them a lot to start the camera and I have a reduced white point on the action one..
Still a big disappointment in terms of durability..
It's such a great phone that it drove me into the arms of Samsung S25 Ultra and that's a whole different universe. It's a bigger paddle, but everything works better. The amount of settings, Android is not what it used to be, it's matured and I think it's already at the same level as ios. Maybe better. I even get the feeling OneUI more stable. And I say that as a 10 year user Apple products. And I see it elsewhere. A lot of people in my area are switching from iPhones to Androids.

I also moved here after seven years. S25 Ultra and I really wondered what the phone can do :D especially the AI in Czech integrated into the system, it's amazing, that's it Apple completely fucked up. And the day after tomorrow I'll pick it up Foldnumber seven, that's a completely different universe... and above all, I have a back gesture by swiping my finger from the right edge, so compared to iOS I can't get my other hand to press the arrow in the top left!
