iOS 18.4 apparently caused in CarPlay a whole series of various errors, starting with minor ones such as not displaying information about the currently playing music on the car's digital dashboard and ending with the phone constantly disconnecting from the car or the complete impossibility of connecting the iPhone to the car. The first time I had a black screen after the update, but after ignoring the car again and pairing it, it worked again.
I don't know but it works for me Carplay no problems even on 18.4.
I've been using 18.4 since the first developer beta and without error (wireless native CarPlay, none carlinkit). Now I have 18.5 and again without error.
I see this as a compatibility issue with a specific car. I remember a few years back (sometime in 2020-2021) I had the same issue with the service, when carplay disconnected and the service solved it with the headquarters and it turned out that the car still does not have the new FW compatible with the new iOS.
iOS 18.4. on 16 Pro Max + Hyundai Tucson NX4E 2023 and everything works as it should.
Outages from 18.4 CarPlay regularly but only in specific places. Music and navigation dropouts. I have 2 iPs and they both do it. Before iOS 18.4 everything went perfectly without a problem
After discussions, I will stay with iOS 17 latest versions. 🥳 And I'm calm.
